Buyer started out with $500 on Atom
I countered 3k
He said "Why don’t you come lower? That domain isn’t worth what you’re asking"
He offered 1.5k
I countered 1.8k
He says 1.5k is his final offer.

There's an EMD at bitcoin-fountain in king. idk what to do lol.

Fyi, Bitcoin faucets used to be / are a thing. Fountain is akin to faucets, which is why i got the domain in 2018

Is the buyer right or am i missing out on xx,xxx?

Are you able to chat with them or just send an offer?

I'd want more if I owned it, but it depends on a number of factors.

Really the difference is $1500 vs $1800 at this point.

I would probably walk away, because I think it could be worth a higher price as a decent two word bitcoin combo.

Everyone has their own unique situation though, so it's hard to give blanket advice.

I've held it from 2018, which means, it went through all those cycles. And bitcoin faucets seem to be not a thing anymore.

Tbh, i'm not seeing fountains (which aren't even the exact keyword) being anything in the future.

Well, right now the ceiling is basically limited to $1800.

Unless you are going to price it much higher, $1,500 is pretty close to that.

if you need the money take it, if you don't, remove all offers if you can that you made and wait for another buyer.

Any negotiation that involves a buyer telling me exactly what they think my domain name is or isn't objectively worth would be terminated immediately they make that statement.

You have diluted the perceived value of your domain name by cutting the price by almost HALF in just your second counter-offer to the buyer.

You have held the domain name for 7 years without much action (I assume) and the only difference between what they offer and what you ultimately wanted is $300.

I don't consider $300 enough money to kill a deal.

Accept their offer. Sell the domain name and replenish your portfolio.

And do a little more reading to brush up on your negotiation techniques.

Where do you do negotiations research

Can someone start a thread like negotiations and backstory of a domain sold or not sold, for pros to share their successful/unsuccessful/challenging negotiations they had with the buyer directly or through a broker?

Bitcoin Faucet is about to be relaunched. Maybe that's why the sudden interest. That faucet was one important reason for many people to know and try about bitcoin at that time. Everytime the faucet runs out of bitcoins i remember the creator of the faucet asking the very early bitcoin miners who had tens of thousand of bitcoins to donate to the faucet so that many people can try it & he did receive thousands and gave back to the people.
Here is one of the new articles about the relaunch i found

Free Bitcoin Faucet From 2010 Is All Set for a Comeback

i cant add the link but you can google it to find about it. hope it helps.
Wish you sale!

That may sound like a good thread idea, But the truth is, Sales negotiations can drag-on and on, while others can complete in two or three emails. You'd really need both the Sellers and the Buyers perspective on each transaction to arrive at something meaningful from each completed sale.

Sellers are mostly willing to share a successful story, Not many buyers are willing to do the same for obvious reasons.

If it were me, I would tell them to find another name.

Price it back at $3k.

You probably saw that there are ones without the dash on the market, and they go for up to $1k.

I think OP's domain does not have the hyphen (dash) in it, they were intentionally changing the name on their post for precaution.

The non-hyphenated version is right now, according to ICANN Lookup, pending transfer, and pointing to Atom NS, so I guess OP has agreed to a sale.

If I'm right, then congrats, @Jv1999 ! If I am not, thank you anyway for this thread, I found it helpful for my learning. Good luck!
