Shopping cart payments

Hey. Need a little guidance. This is the first e-commerce I've fully developed. It's all working smoothly but now I need to figure out how to accept payments. My client wants to accept paypal and credit cards. I understand that with PayPal, you can accept card payments but I don't have a business account to test things out. I'm really not sure where to start.

So what I've got is a form which the user uses to enter shipping details. Then this form goes to payment. Now I have no idea what I need to do next.
