With resellers, your host will tend to be more leniant towards cpu and ram usage, whearas shared, they will hunt you down if you go over their limits.

Only go for a reseller if you are planning to host quite a few sites, if not go for something like hostgator.com have, they have a plan called "Baby Croc" which suites most people for around 6 or 7 sites.

Also, a word of advice: Dont buy from np$ hosts or people offering hosting who have a domain registered within the last 6-12 months...many (not all) just own 1 server (or vps) and have no security or knowledge of running a server (knowing SSH simply doesnt cut it).

I Personaly recommend HostGator.com for both reseller and shared hosting. Alternatively, for just reseller hosting try resellerzoom.com

Hope this helps you out ;)

Shared
- Used for you and you only, your sites (1 domain or multiple, depending on host).
- Can make money (ecommerce, etc)

Reseller
- Can become a host
- Can make multiple accounts
- Can host multiple domains for users
- Can make a profit (many ways)

Thanks,
Camron

If you aren't reselling check out site5's shared hosting packages. Pretty generous sizes and the supports been great.

Cool new stuff like trackback and support for ruby and all that.

I think shared hosting allows you to host your own sites, with reseller account you get freedom to create unlimited number of full featured hosting accounts and each account you create will have it's own control panel.
