question Seo, domain rank in serp

I know that one of the easiest way to rank higher on the Google serp for a certain keyword Is to have the domain name matching with that certain keywords.
What is the difference, from the rankability side, between to own the com version of that keyword instead to purchase a cheaper TLD?

Google says that the tld do not affect the rank position. So from my research the only things that matter are:
Age, Page Rank, quality backlinks

Typically the com version have this parameter higher than others TLD.

Am I correct?
Thanks

If you're asking if .com is better than .net or .org etc when it comes to ranking in search results, the answer is no according to Google's Matt Cutts.

BUT, from what I've experienced in the past, competing against a .com domain with a .net domain in search is difficult. We think it was because the .com domain had better social signals.

Yeah you exactly got my question.
I think that only quality parameters like the ones I've mentioned could make the difference.
According with what Google say, the serp algorithm should consider more the quality, so a keyword.net.in if have higher Pr and age than his relative com version (hard to happen) should be advantaged.
Instead like you point seem that coms are always advantaged. For that reason I've asked this question.
I see an infinite debate on this argument

content is key to rank in SE's

content is key to rank in SE's
so according with what you say, instead of spend top dollar on buying gifcard.net expiring these days, if i put higher quality conent than that i'll able to easily rank higher also with a new, simple and less expansive giftcard.cm ?

my belief is, content + extension = rank

if you're trying to rank for "giftcard" then your battle is so uphill, that you may never reach the top.

but i'd try to find a three or even a four word .com, before using a .cm

imo....

it was just a sample, coz giftcard.net is expiring these days..

well, this remain a mistery for me. why use a 4 word .com to rank for a keywords that is only 2 word?
this means that what google say is not correct.

I'm just trying to understand why a company should spend tons of money on a com name only to rank for a specific keywords if google say that TLD do not affect anything in the serp rank.
They are doing this, so there is surely a reason.

it's simple, don't believe everything google says

cuz if google uses .com, then that means what?

if you search "gift cards" in G, you may see giftcards.com then amazon.com/gift-cards, then other brand name companies that sell gift cards

as you go down the line you'll see domain names that don't have the keyword in it, but have keyword in the ranking url.

ie; thecapitalgrille.com/gift-cards

yeah and i think this happens because they spend high money in SEO to rank for that keywords.
the purpose to buy a keyword name and redirect the traffic to the main site is only a way to reduce the SEO cost, am i wrong here?

if you by a type-in traffic name, then you don't need seo or se rank
