I sent out highly targeted email to potential buyers/end-users telling them about one of my domain names and the important marketing benefits and business advantages of developing a website on a keyword-rich domain name.

An end-user responded to me and said, "How much do you want for it?"

How do you pros respond in this situation? Do you ask the person to make an offer via email or Sedo? Or do you first respond with an amount that is much higher than the price you'd be willing to accept?

Thanks for your thoughts. :)

You made the running, you must then give the price. You can't get someone interested then ask them for a make offer, that is bad business.

^ Exactly, now reply with your reasonable Asking price! :yell: :imho:

All the best, please keep us posted! :talk:

Find out how much top advertisers are spending on the keyword per month. In my opinion 3-5 years worth of ad expense is a fair price.

The domain name has two words, and both words are keywords. Which tools do you use to determine the ad expense? Google AdWords Keyword Tool? Google AdWords Traffic Estimator? Do you determine the ad expense only for the exact two-word phrase?

Thanks!

Give them a price and a legitimate but short explanation of the price.

Don't ask to send it to auction. That's the last thing an end user wants to hear.

KISS.
