Hi NP

I having a littlebit of an issue. I have sold 2 names to a european company. But they say their accountancy may no accept invoices from an individual.
I never had problems creating Paypal invoices to companies with my name, so I found it interesting but they might be right.
What do you guys could recommend me to do in order to finalize the deal even as an individual?

Tell them you are a sole trader, and create an invoice for them with a fancy letterhead. flamingtext.com is a handy site for creating a heading logo.

I placed my own VAT number on the updated invoice, with one of my better looking websites. Will see whether they spit it back or not.
If so I should consider making a company around my domaining activities.

That is total BS.

Because there is also a word called Proprietorship. Where the owner is the company and company is the owner.

All liabilities of company are liabilities of the owner and all assets of company are assets of owner, while all assets of owner are assets of company and all liabilities of owner are liabilities of company ;)

In short they are one. I do have my Income Tax registration number and I pay my income tax from last 12 years from my own name and have never mentioned my company name as my company name is just for the show when I am proprietor. I can opt for a new number if I wish but I don't want to handle 2 accounting files when 1 accounting file can do the job.

Depends on the European Country. They probably have a system whereby they expect to deal with a company and have no experience of not dealing with a company. I currently live in Bulgaria which is a beautiful place but business is still done on paper and you have to drive into town once a month and queue to pay your electric bill.

Listio that is actually a good thing. :) Standing in lines :) Believe me, I tell all my banks that I don't want Internet Banking Facilities and I will deal with them on old system of cheques.

Cheques are harder to steal from my home locker and they even have to forge my sign. Moreover if someone goes to cash that check the CCTV footage will be there from bank.

I still deal in most primitive systems as far as money is concerned.

That has nothing to do with businesses though.

If you are a sole owner of company then company is you and you are company. I think that is the only way forward. Even if you have 2 different files the net profit is same. Its simple logic.

Thanks.

While I dont disagree that standing in line is good thing. The OP is trying to understand why he is having difficulty dealing with a European country. I was just rying to convey the point that they may be unused to such trades and they may not have a system or experience in cross-border trade. I wouldn't recommend the OP delivers the invoice in person ... Kuffy's suggestion is best

If you read my earlier post you will know that even if someone wants an invoice from my company I would surely give them an invoice from my company. It doesn't matters because when Income tax calculations are done the GOVT doesn't differentiates between a company and an individual who is a sole trader (Proprietor of that firm)

The catch here is that if you submit a company invoice the money would arrive into your company account and you need a bank account on that name. Which is also easy for sole traders to get one from a local bank.

Therefore if they want a company invoice then give them the company invoice and get the money into your bank account. The drama and issues of taxes can be settled later on. After all we pay taxes on what we have received in accounts therefore the priority here should be to get the money into the account and submitting a company invoice is not a bad idea.
