HI,

I have a domain that is parked at namedrive.
But the buyer wants to use the sedo service to complete the transaction. Sedo has this service" External Transfer Service".

Can someone please tell me what are the next steps, and some usefull advices,

thanks

If you have your name listed "for sale" at SEDO you can simply accept
the offer. SEDO will ask you to transfer the name to them. THey will
transfer the name to the buyer. All you will need to do is make the
account change in your registrar control panel.

If you are not parked or listed for sale at SEDO you should do so right
away. This will save you on commissions.

Better check this out first:

3% for external transfer service

10% if listed with Sedo

!!!

Yes .... after a $50 min. commission charge. So there is a $50 min plus the
3% fee.

Also there this a disclaimer for outside transfers.

" *There might be additional fees charged to you by your registrar or bank.
There is an additional 3% express processing fee added for payments over
$500 made using PayPal. "

Break down: Fees based on a $500.00, $1000.00 and a $5,000.00 sale.

listed: $50
outside: $65

listed: $100
outside: $80

listed: $500
outside: $200

Good job "susi" (domainsusi) for pointing this out. I've never used the transfer
option. I wonder if this was an option back when I joined :O. I would say if
there are no other fees for the transfer then use the "Outside Transfer Option". :D

Please update this post and let us know how the process went.

The better solution and the one I use is escrow.com

Standard service for handling domain sales at escrow.com

$500 = $25
$1000 = 32.50
$5000 = 162.50

In addition, you can request that buyer and seller split fee.

Yes, External Transfer Service is the correct option, because it was not listed and you directly found the buyer; do not list it on Sedo.

Escrow.com is cheaper and faster, but only handles the financial side - they don't hold the domain during the transaction. For most escrows, this is sufficient security, but is not as safe as using services that hold both the money and the domain. Personally, I prefer escrow.com, but Sedo's escrow service is fine too.
