As we said, we voted “no” in the same poll. The poll has nothing to do with this matter. We did not find the picture disturbing either.
Actually, we’ve stated it very clearly for 5 years now and have been enforcing it. The criteria has been clearly outlined since 2015:
We understand many members may still disagree even if the poll question was relevant, such as “Do you consider this avatar appropriate in a professional community,” but as we said, this isn’t the place for avatars like that.
If you’re coming here to look at avatars, then that’s news to us.
If you think building a professional environment isn’t influenced by the usernames and avatars used, then we strongly disagree.
While we may not participate in as many discussions, we help resolve more issues on NamePros than anyone, so we believe that we have a good understanding of how things like this can influence the type of behavior within the community.
