Sad to hear that...
Namepros invited me to apply for pro and they made me pro after one month they removed and said 3 pros out of 230 dont like you lol ... i was like What The??? i didnt resist.. its really disrespected and more shocking is they cant give us name who disliked me lol..what about other 100s?? who like me?? if three dont like me they removed my badge??
and do really badge says you are pro NO... work counts..

I was just wondering where your pro badge went.

Disgraceful. "Professional" denotes earning enough income from said profession to live solely on that. You also met all requirements for your domains to be deemed a professional.

You are arguably one of the fastest learning and fastest achieved domainers in the community. I am interested in the reasoning behind this. Can you share your conversation with the staff?

As for the profile pic, I don't know what to say. I can think of several members with goofy avatars. Will they remove those as well?

See you around guys, i wont be using this platform anymore since they shut my mouth and removed my avatar.

They say its not professional so the PROFESSIONAL thing to do is to ask them to close my account.

Good luck you all!

I am not sure what your avatar was, but I find things that NamePros allows far more unprofessional such as members who have suspended 5+ times and are still here, members who have threatened others twice and are still here, people infracted multiple times for self-promotion still here, people just adding no value intentionally trolling and causing strife still here...

Also, I am not sure what went on with Riz M. losing the Pro status, but any anonymous group of (3) members could basically remove any "Pro" member. I find that process completely ridiculous.

He's gone - account closed at his request, we have lost a very good contributor

@Mod Team Bravo @Mod Team Alfa - this is a disgrace that you have allowed this to happen......

By what right do you have to dictate that an avatar is offensive? How many people have to complain to make it offensive? 1, 2, 3+ ? Is there a specific level of complaints that make it offensive?

You don't ban people who clearly deserve it but allow people to leave by pandering to a nanny state model of governance....

Yeah, another good contributor lost. It seems like this issue keeps repeating itself.

At some point the issue is not with the members, it is with the management.

Namepros invited me to apply for pro
This was our message:
That is an invitation to apply, not join.

they made me pro after one month they removed and said 3 pros out of 230 dont like you lol ... i was like What The??? i didnt resist.. its really disrespected and more shocking is they cant give us name who disliked me lol..what about other 100s?? who like me?? if three dont like me they removed my badge??

NamePros did not make you a PRO:
  • Two (2) PRO members vouched for you to join; they made you a PRO.
  • Three (3) disagreed and had you removed.

The PRO Network is a group controlled entirely by its members.

Here is the message we sent to you:
You were removed from The PRO Network because three (3) PRO members decided that you do not qualify to be in the group.

As a reminder, here are the requirements:

Please remember that the group is run exclusively by PRO members and not by NamePros, so we do not decide whether you are removed from the group, only PRO members decide that.

If you want to discuss it further, you may start your own thread, but please do not reply with off-topic posts in this thread.

It would be interesting to see a transparent response from moderation.

Were there complaints?
Why was this important?

IS THERE ANYTHING IN THE BYLAWS/RULES OF NP THAT MENTION AVATARS HAVE TO BE "PROFESSIONAL" AND A DEFINITION OF "PROFESSIONAL" ??? ---- Probably not

I echo @bmugford that there are far more pressing issues that mods could be exerting energy towards than to bother @Elad n for a Nicholson picture as his avatar that I recall him having for many years.

Elad was a NP member of integrity.

Why the nonsense?

I can't say anything about the specific avatar in question since it has been removed. I'm not a huge fan of usernames and avatars that represent someone else .. even and particularly if it's an obvious celebrity. After that I'm not too insisting on it being "professional" .. however if it is "unprofessional" then while I'm not sure there should be a rule, I also think that we're trying to be somewhat professionals here. Our industry already has a hard time getting respect, so then if our publicly viewable forum is full of infantile pictures, it's hard to ask others to take us seriously if don't even take ourselves seriously. However I'm not really again unique fun avatars that aren't "business like" .. so long as they are not unprofessional. People should consider it for themselves as well. I was super happy when @WhoaDomain.com finally changed his .. as much as I though I'd still not take him more seriously, I actually did .. lol.

Again .. my comments above are totally generally speaking and NOT in any way directed to @Elad n .. I didn't see the avatar in question so maybe it was totally fine .. or maybe not .. lol. That being said .. NamePros has all the rights to do whatever they want with regards to anything on this forum. That includes closing forum access, deleting data, removing avatars or any other content, as well as reading our private messages. It's a bit concerning considering how anonymous ownership and management is .. but it's something you just have to accept if you want to take part here. Because on the other hand NamePros is a great toll and resource for us all, and I think they do try to make is fair for the most part .. although it's far from perfect I suppose.

The last thing i notice in a member is its avatar. The first and most important is his feedback score and his posts.

NamePros has high expectations for professionalism, which includes usernames and profile pictures ("avatars").

I see much worse on a daily basis.
Please report.

The removed avatar was reported by another community member who felt it was inappropriate.

Thanks.

This is not fair that is the point......they have bowed down to a very small minority - how small is what I want to know, how many people have complained to the mods about his avatar?

I want to know why this has been flagged as unprofessional while many other light hearted avatars are allowed, where does the buck stop in regards to who decides whats a professional avatar or not? Is it the members? The mods? Management? How many complaints must be received before it gets decided it is unprofessional?

Both.

Members report; we decide if we agree.
