Sedo now advertising Direct Auction for $59. Is this worth it?

While logging into SEDO, I see they are now advertising something call Direct Auction, with which for $59 you can auction any name you have listed with them. Given that you can do the same, for free, via GoDaddy and other platforms, do you think Sedo's offer is worth it?

Just imagin what kind of feeling I will be having in my mind and heart.

More sales can take place, more listing can be placed, if SEDO revises the minimum commission from $ 60 to $ 10 or the prescribed percentage on the total sale amount. For example, in the above sales of $ 119, if their commission rate is 15%, they should deduct only $17.85 only instead of $ 60.

First of, do you see that "Benefits" section ?

Well, I had been mislead into thinking that what it says is what I'd get. With Direct Auction, domain(s) wiill be on "Maximum Exposure" as it is "featured on homepage" and on searches. Except, only a fraction of the 7-day auction - "close to the end" - will be allocated for that homepage benefit. I didn't really care for other benefits but that. Disappointing when you are thinking of creating more auctions using their platform. It just bothers me now - whatever's more expensive, is what delivers least. I could have ordered a 30-day listing instead, I believe that's $30+ but less than what I ordered. Only Top Domains and Featured Domains would refresh at homepage and Market Activity page, and to me, these would have allowed more exposure.

Anyways, I found out too late. The auction already started when support got back to me about details of Direct Auction. I should have initiated beforehand. Atleast I asked.

From the looks of it, I can only hope to get a refund. And looks like that'll be the last time I'm ordering an auction at Sedo.

It is just a way for Sedo to earn more money.
I look at the direct auctions and the names are horrible. Almost none will ever sell.
People are just wasting more money.

If you have good names you will get a bid at some point, and you can always turn the bid into an auction if you are not satisfied with the offer. Starting a direct auction is like advertising your domain in the desert: who looks at the auctions ?
