Sedo forcing buyers to put a high offer?

I'm using sedo parking and i've put $15 as the minimum offer for all domains. Today i went into my own domain and tried to offer myself a $16 (just wanted to see how things work) , but sedo showed an error saying :
Your offer is too low.
Premium domain names typically sell for three or four-figure amounts, and sellers will simply not respond to a bid if it is too low. If you need help setting a price, you can request an expert Domain Appraisal. You are REQUIRED to enter a bid of at least 60 $/EUR/GBP
what the hell? i don't want to sell it for $60 , why are they forcing buyers to pay "at least" $60? they also claim that i won't respond for a low offer which isn't true.

Is there a way i can get around this?

A while back I remember seeing on the front page a domain sold for $10. It seems that may not be possible anymore. I would like to hear an official word from Sedo instead of speculation.

The minimum has been $60 as long as can remember. I never spent much time shopping on Sedo, but it was $60 about a year ago.

I have always believed that the minimum is $100.

You can set the "minimum offer" @ EUR 50 and if u want to set "asking price" you have to put at least EUR 200 ;)

It's still possible to sell domains for low prices (i.e. $10) if you're parking the
domain at Sedo's parking program (-> no minimum commission).

Could it be that they don't feel spending all that time transferring names, emailing buyer and seller is worth $1.50 a pop?

Where do you try to place your bid ?
At sedo .com .de . co.uk. etc...

Remember each sedo extension is a own profit center, and they may offer different conditions ;)

Really? I use .co.uk becoz Sedo GmbH Terms and Conditions:
...
1. Eligible Users
Use of the Site and Services is restricted to persons: (a) at least 18 years old, and (b) who reside, or have a business address outside of the United States or Canada.
...
Users inside the United States and Canada are encouraged to use Sedoโ€™s affiliate web site located at www[dot]sedo[dot]com.
...

They lowest you can set a price for your domains is $100
The lowest someone can bid USING sedo is $60
sedo will serve as escrow for any amount (At least nothing I've seen says otherwise), but you can't bid/buy/sell on sedo at less than the two above.

Hi there,

IAmAllanShore did a great job answering the questions. The minimum price a seller can list a domain for is $100, while the minimum buyers can offer is $60. As Sublime.Name mentioned, it's just not economically feasible to transfer domains for lower than $60, consider the fees to just transfer the funds back and forth.

The $10 sale some of you are referring to (which was displayed in our recent sales showcase) was an input error, bstreet.com actually changed hands for $10,000!

Wow you guys are doing really good. Although it would not really be for someone looking for some $20 domains it is still a cool place to pickup some domains with high potential. I hope to use you guys soon when I get paypal.

So let me get this straight : i might not list it for less than $60 , but i can sell it for like $15 through Sedo , am i right? if so , then it doesn't make sense to me.

SEDO is a business not a public utility why would they want to be bothered with $15 sales? THat's what forums are for. Same amount of work for $15 sale as $15,000 with a lot less commission.

Hello, I'm new at this. Matter of fact this is my first time sitting in at NamePro's, but without sounding rude...would someone please tell me why you spent hours, days, or even weeks of valuable time searching registrars to find interesting domain names, and not want to sell them for more than $15 dollars? You do realize that Business.com just sold for $1.7 Million? I joined this sight to learn how ro make money with my domain names, not to sell them for less than I paid.
Any knowledge is appreciated...I'm all ears.
Thanks, Neo54
