I saw a domain name that is parked with SEDO and I click on link "BUY THIS DOMAIN - The domain .com is for sale by its owner!
I then land to a page that is a sedo page with a text "asking price $200" and next to it : "enter your bid" (Why bid? it's the seller asking price!) so I enter $200 as a bid.
Definition for asking price: the price at which something is offered for sale.
In small it is written at bottom:
* This domain name (.com) without content is available for sale by its owner through Sedo's Domain Marketplace. ** Any offer you submit is binding for seven (7) days. Please note that all offer/counteroffer prices are inclusive of VAT (if applicable). No additional taxes and/or VAT will be added to the final price on completion of negotiation
If I do understand, my submit is a bidding within 7 days. Isn't this ridiculous for a seller asking price?
Now I have to block my $200.00 for a week just in case he reply OK.
Worse, seller can totally ignore your bid by not replying or outbid the asking price. What a waste of time !
I've contact Sedo support and here is their replied:
"Thank you for your email.
Sedo GmbH does not own or sell any domains directly, but provides a marketplace for buying, selling and parking domains. The domains are listed by their owners.
I can confirm that this domain has been listed for sale on Sedo. The seller has set a suggested price and minimum price of200 USD for this domain. This means that the seller is not required to sell the domain even if your offer matches their current list price.
You can wait until the seller responds to your offer. Please also bear in mind that sellers are not obliged to respond to offers made on their domains although we encourage them to do so."
So Sedo definition of "Seller asking price" is what I've put in bold above" : a suggested price and minimum price of200 USD
WOW, my english is really really bad
I don't understand what is a "asking price", sorry.
I think they should have a min bid price and a buy now price and not mislead buyers!
If I have to sell my domain at auction on Namepros I'm sure that they will move my post to fixed price if I post a domain for sale with an asking price unless if it's an auction with min bid and a bin price witch is the asking price.
