Sedo .TV Auction Ends With $800K In Sales: Our Winners & Losers | The Domains

--

I told him its funny how some people look at certain domain prices as Winners VS Losers... i.e. Mike sees the GEO's (i.e. Japan) only selling at $10K as losers... while I see them as some of the smartest purchases.

To each his own... ;)

My best purchase of the day: I saw Guide.TV hit $20K+ and remembered that I wanted the plural, which was sitting on the premium list... for much cheaper. It'll still meet my needs just as well.

What an exciting day this has been. I'm sure some losers (the usual suspects) will try to rain on this parade... all I can do is smile and wait for the next round of announcements.

Congrats to all the .TV auction winners, buyers & sellers.

Thanks. Just got it in my account. Sale completed.

cable.tv Whois - cable - Who.is

Also registered cables.tv.

I think its a nice name for Tv Cables info , sales portal.

Will develop 100%. Also got phone.tv.

+ digital.tv + stream.tv e.t.c... :hehe: COMING SOON! after wire transfers clear next week. All for development.

Congratulations, Cable.tv is an awesome name.

By the way, you should be thrown in jail for stealing that name for that price:) (lol)

Many of us, had that name in our top 5 and some as #1 in the auction.

Also, Michael Berkins blog had Cable.tv as the best buy in the .tv auction in a voters poll. Here are the results below:

What Was The Best Buy From The .TV Auction (prices rounded)

* Cable.TV $4K (27%, 41 Votes)
* Business.TV $100K (15%, 23 Votes)
* Home.TV $31K (10%, 15 Votes)
* Womens.TV $1K (10%, 15 Votes)
* Japan.TV $10K (10%, 15 Votes)
* Programs.TV $700 (7%, 11 Votes)
* Advertising.Tv $10K (6%, 9 Votes)
* 4.TV $5K (6%, 9 Votes)
* Stocks.TV $22K (4%, 6 Votes)
* Digital.TV $10K (3%, 5 Votes)
* Guide.TV $29K (2%, 3 Votes)

Thanks, Jim

Yes I noticed that a couple days ago and a damn good buy! How many days do winning bidders have to pay? For some reason I think it's 7 business days but I could be wrong.

the emails start immediately [pay now!] but it think it extends a little more in practice.

i would expect to see pretty much all the transfers that are going to actually happen by the end of next week.

Update;
I've been informed that there are some results being posted on today's DNJ as "reported sales" (I believe the top result was Wine.TV at $17k) ... beginning tom'w or Friday, by popular request, I will post and quote these ".TV" domains from the DNJ here in order to then check Whois for the buyers and to follow / track unique, stand-alone .TV developments! :gl: :imho:

Thanks and please stay tuned ...

Alas...I for one wouldn't know any of these guys(or gals) from Adam. Personally speaking, I would hope they are just regular endusers, nothing fancy, that just wants to set up shop and tack a shingle on the cyber street selling their wares.

I don't need rich companies or conglomerates to impress me. I don't need to see wheelbarrows full of cash to resell the damn name, either. xxxx is a nice and fair number, far better than the exorbitant price sibling .com wants for the same name.

Humble abodes do just fine for myself. But maybe that is around the corner...I certainly see it happening so I am satisfied with that.

Anyway, should any names be familiar to members here this is an interesting thread, so let 'er rip.

I am hoping these are new domain investors who are taking a second look at .TV, now that there are many great keywords that no longer have premium renewals.

That would provide many more reseller opportunities for those who wish to flip high quality .tv domains. :imho:

Domaining is such a noble profession.

Hmmm, not sure what you mean by this?

If I was in the business of investing in bulk real estate would I not want the area I owned some of my houses in to become hot and coveted by other real estate investors?

Say a new popular shopping development moved in called "No More Premiums Mall" and suddenly there is a much larger pool of HIGH END investors looking to scoop up chunks of HIGH QUALITY real estate in my neighborhood, as it has now become much more desirable to them.

Nobel Indeed!

I really hope folks are seeking them for unique, stand-alone development / "ecosystem" ... rather than trying to FLIP them - plus, honestly, I don't think there's much to be made in trying to flip niche ccTLD ".TV's" anyway (regarless of their old/new Reg. fees situation), IMHO. :guilty:

Anyway, which .TV Whois is comfortable for most? :gl:
I'll start with; Wine.tv, RE.tv, Advertising.tv either today or tom'w as best convenient.

Regards,
Jeff B-)

:hi:

Jeff, I eagerly await your whois findings on Wine.tv, RE.tv, Advertising.tv (and others).

I hope the WHOIS will provide us with not the usual domain suspects but NEW, well established domain suspects who have PROVEN track records in the domain industry, that are now investing good money into .TV domains as they see great potential in it (why else would they invest xxxx - xxxxx)? ;)

I would value the opinions of such PROVEN investors over lets say others who have zero track record of making money in the domain industry. B-)

Please provide such findings as best convenient.

^ Thanks, me too ... and I agree with you, this should help to separate the men (those developing with unique, stand-alone content for the "ecosystem") from the boys (those including domainer Usual Suspects© attempting to flip .TV's as they've been doing without much success for the past 10+/+ years), IMHO. :gl:

See you then,

Is that the new classification now Jeff?

Sorry, I didn't read the same press relese you did.

Can you send me a link where it states the definition of Domaining men as opposed to boys, because I sure as hell am a man, and really like my position as a domain flipper. it has been pretty good to me so far, and I am sure the future is much brighter for me as a .TV investor/flipper, whatever...

Maybe, I should just run around a Forum I have no interest in, like oh... How about a pottery forum or something like that and tell everyone in that Forum they should all to grow up and instead of making pottery they should all paint instead. lol

Hey Mr. V...

..let's cut some slack here and get on with business, capice?

Anyway, Wine.tv went for 17,000 and I have a perfectly good wino.tv someone could have for half the price! The name pushes the envelope in my opinion, a little imagination, like I got with wordpress, and presto, Chianti is on the table!

Wine.tv SHOULD be developed as it has a world of opportunity awaiting it.

Does anyone know how long the winning bidders have to pay before Sedo can delegate to the second highest bidder? I been hounding Sedo about a name that has yet to be paid for. It's coming up on 2 weeks now since this auction ended and I want the name!
