An awful Sedo 3-week escrow transaction (where I was the buyer). Take note if one Erich Mueller is your transfer agent. He is slow and unresponsive. This transaction should have taken about 2 days, but instead drug out for about 3 weeks.
Note: This isn't a bash Sedo thread, more of a bash an inept Sedo rep thread. I should note I've dealt with another Sedo rep who has been fabulous in this process, so I don't think it is a systemic problem with all Sedo reps.
EDIT: After I posted this thread, I was impressed with the way Erich improved his service. I also received a call from another Sedo rep looking to help with the situation. I have left the heart of my post as a frame reference for others; however, I now am very content with the level of service I am receiving from Sedo.
- He failed to answer my question of why Sedo charges a 3% commission fee when using Paypal (despite the fact their cost is most likely only 1.9% based on their monthly volume).
- He failed to timely communicate with the seller (e.g. getting the EPP transfer code) and then back to me about a transfer of the domain.
- He failed to contact the seller and explain how to expedite the transfer despite repeated requests to do so.
- He arbitrarily pushed the domain to me at the current registrar (a GD reseller) which now forces me to wait another 60 days to transfer the domain.
