What is the cheapest way to use Sedo for an escrow sale (price $400).

1. List it for sale and point the buyer to your Sedo listing (parked elsewhere).
2. List it for sale and point the buyer to your Sedo listing (parked Sedo).
3. Not have it listed and start an escrow transaction with Sedo.

3.

If the domain is not listed (you found the buyer elsewhere) I understand that Sedo's escrow fees are lower, although I have not done this.

If the domain forwards to sedo then popular extensions are 10% without the $50 minimum that applies if they find the buyer and the domain does not resolve to Sedo.

So Option #2 is cheapest for any domain below $500. Correct?

Option 2 will save you $10, but make sure it isn't going to irritate the buyer too much that it causes him to back out. When people ask me to make an offer on Sedo when I have already negotiated a price, I assume they are going to push it to auction just to waste my time.

I don't behave like that. The buyer has agreed to Sedo already. So everything should be sweet.

ditto. If somebody asks me for that mid-negotiation I lose interest very quickly.
otherwise, option2 is best for anything under $500, yes.
