How does Sedo handle sale of a name registered at domain.com?
You can't open an account there unless you buy something but the name I sold is only 30 days old so it can't be transfered out...
:guilty:

Just post a message to the sedo broker that the name cant be transferred for x amount of days and it will relay to the buyer as well. You should be ok.

You need to contact Domain.com support (might do by via chat), then they will create a new account without purchasing any product.

Another option is an affiliate account for the receiving party. Hope this helps!

I have no problem with paying a few dollars to open a new account but of course buyer would have to change account info afterwards. As always the fewer problems for them the better...

I think I will contact sedo and ask how are they planning to handle it.

I recently sold one domain registered at Domain.com and buyer opened his account using my domain he purchased as an user name. But that was another domainer. So that was a piece of cake for him. End user might be less comfortable with this way so I suggested Domain.com support to handle this.

I will let Sedo handle it - I mean they will get almost $200 from the sale so they should work a little bit for it

sedo might have an account with them and handle a push

The problem is that the buyer most probably doesn't have an account there - and will have to jump through hoops to create one...

I had problems opening a domain.com account.

I found out that you can do this by opening an affiliate account from the link below:

https://www1.domain.com/affiliate/signup.bml

No affiliate link code in the above link :)

I boggles my mind that domain.com which is owned by EIG that also owns big brands like Hostgator, Hostmoster, Resellerclub etc doesn't even have the most basic option (like any other normal registrar) that is simple, hassle free registration.

Then again it IS owned by EIG - anything they buy turns into $#@ :xf.rolleyes:

I spent an hour looking for their registration on their website.

In the end I gave up and asked Google and it's the affiliate account only.

It just doesn't make sense :xf.eek:

What I did when I had to open an account there was go to register a domain. Then it will let you create an account. Then you can delete from cart. I try to avoid these guys....only use them when I have to, thankfully

So they will allow you to complete "purchase" even if there's nothing in a cart?

No, there was nothing to complete...but at the time I signed up, it allowed me to create an account in this process and then remove the domain from the cart. I just attempted to see how it works now and can't get the site to function right. I get the "continue" and the button won't work for me in any browser. Which reminds me why I do not use them.
