Hi All! :hi:

By request, we've decided to start a thread dedicated to Sedo. We're looking for invaluable insight into what domainers want and need out of our parking program (and marketplace, of course).

Questions, comments, suggestions, tips are welcome! We're hoping this will be a great discussion about what works at Sedo and what might not (please be constructive and respectful to others in your feedback) so that everyone involved can benefit and learn from it.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas! Happy Holidays!

Always,
Keith
(on behalf of Sedo)

We have confirmed with the previous owner that they no longer own this domain and the sales team has reminded them to take it off their listings and made a notation on their account in case they try to list it again.

Sounds like Sedo, without any explanation on how this mysterious "previous owner" was able to circumvent their authorization system.

All Sedo users are equal but some are more equal than others.

This evergreen Orwell's statement fits everywhere as Democracy rhyme with Utopy, but we [ Sedo users ] need to go on the bottom of this matter, in way or another:

If 'more equal' means that someone could pay less transaction fees, personally, I don't care;

I care if someone can skip the owner verification step rule, listing a domain of mine in its account:
It sounds like a bold move slightly border line, legally talking.

On a positive note: I've started pointing a small subset of my domains to Sedo again, mainly some European ccTLDs priced in Euro. This time I'm skipping the sl1/sl2 detour and using the standard Sedoparking nameservers and Sales lander #15, since that extra hop with sl1/sl2 is no longer necessary.
Condolences.

Some sellers, Sedo do not do verification because business is difficult now. These sellers bring them business, even if they cannot deliver the domain name, it is okay. Just canceling the transaction. These sellers who publish a large number of domain names are actually not publishing their own domain names, they are charging a price to publish a large number of other people's domain names. For example, if someone else's domain is priced at $1000, these sellers will post $2000 to Sedo for sale. If someone buys Sedo for $2000, they will go buy the $1000 domain and deliver it.

just got this from sedo support

Please accept our apologies for the issues you have experienced when trying to list the domain for sale on our Marketplace.

We have confirmed with the previous owner that they no longer own this domain and the sales team has reminded them to take it off their listings and made a notation on their account in case they try to list it again.

I can freely list some of my own domain names that are currently being displayed by these sellers on Sedo, and are still being displayed by the other party. However, I don't care about some domain names, as I believe they cannot be sold on Sedo. Therefore, I won't verify or contact Sedo to investigate, which is a waste of my time.

It's happening all over the place, including afternic and any others. 90% are domains listed by ex owners. I contact sedo every 2-3 days to verify a listing and in the same time I forget sometimes to delist an expired domain. Also, I've sold a domain at afternic 5 years after I let it expire and they didb't bothered about it, nobody else had registered it and looks like neither the buyer didb't bothered to check if it's available.
