Hi All! :hi:

By request, we've decided to start a thread dedicated to Sedo. We're looking for invaluable insight into what domainers want and need out of our parking program (and marketplace, of course).

Questions, comments, suggestions, tips are welcome! We're hoping this will be a great discussion about what works at Sedo and what might not (please be constructive and respectful to others in your feedback) so that everyone involved can benefit and learn from it.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas! Happy Holidays!

Always,
Keith
(on behalf of Sedo)

Is Sedo having trouble now also? I try to visit a parked domain and I get a error message. Anybody else getting this error message?
I tried a few of my Sedo landers, as well as the main site, and they are operational for me (from Canada).

ARRGGHH ! With make offer you can't activate MLS, can only do that with BIN !?@*%43(

So, make offer or MLS but not both !
Hi

you can set a BIN and enable account to allow buyer to make an offer, against that BIN price.
so, you get MLS and ability for potential to 'make offer'

the only thing with that is, in order for you to counteroffer, you have to lower your BIN.
however, when NS is set to sedo, it counts as a BIN sale with only 10% fee.

ie: 5np.com

imo...

Hi Cabotower,

Please do not mock purchase your own domains, this is not allowed. This error is suppose to happen so that sellers can not buy their own domains.

All the best
Chris

Hi @Sedo - is there a way to report "fake" listings? I found ~10 that are listed on Sedo as $50 min MO but they are all unregistered names. Perhaps the seller is trying to sell them and then he'll register them if someone bites (and doesn't know they can't hand register them on their own). In fact, I own one of them and have not listed it on Sedo - yet it is one of the $50 name listings.

I think it would be good tech to add to Sedo - to do a WhoIs check prior to allowing a name to be listed. If it comes up unregistered, block the listing.

Hi NameGroove,

Thanks for your message.

Yes you can report such names to our Security Team via [email protected].

All the best

Hi

on sedo homepage in the popup for Cookie Settings, the line below needs to be corrected.

By clicking "Accept", you agree to the processing and transfer of your data to third countries.

the word countries s/b "parties"

imo...

Hi Alcy,

If you scroll back a few pages on this thread, we definitely discussed this in detail fairly recently.

All the best,
Chris

Thanks in advance for all helpful information.

What is the advantage (if there is one) of having a domain that continuously has <10 views?

I've noticed on top domains and showcase domains as well as searched domains on SEDO.

How or why would you try to suppress the number of views?

Is this for SEO or is this a sales strategy?

Last question

Is it advantageous whether or not the page element icon is green or blue on a sales lander?

@Sedo

A reserve price filter by dollar amount for auctions is essential. Unrealistic reserves clutter the listings, making it difficult to identify worthwhile names.

I realize this is not entirely what you are asking (which I agree would be helpful), but you can isolate auction only listings from the Advanced search, and then order those according to reserve range, either ascending or descending.

Right. But without a toggle/filter for 'Reserve price met' then sorting by bids for example is confusing. See screenshot below where they differentiate with different colored fonts. Would much rather omit the grayed ones.

Sure, but Sedo would rather you didn't have that option, as sellers are paying to be in these auctions and they don't want to limit eyeballs.

Of course. At the same time, when sorting by 'bids,' counting three bids reaching only $70 on a reserve price of $500,000 to $999,999, as shown in my screenshot above (Lebron.com), is absurd.

Νo other explanation, they put such high reserves not because they think they will sell their domains at such high auction prices but because they want to promote their domains. It's a free advertisement to get more future offers, these prices are not auction prices.
The above post is from this thread regarding Sedo's great-domain auctions.

@Sedo I'm here to say that I’ve left Sedo to switch to Afternic. Seriously, Sedo's platform feels like it’s straight out of the 90s and has become unusable. The internal tabbed menu has always been complicated to navigate, despite the fact that I’ve been registered on Sedo since 2012.

I hope this feedback can help you improve in the future.
