Hi All! :hi:

By request, we've decided to start a thread dedicated to Sedo. We're looking for invaluable insight into what domainers want and need out of our parking program (and marketplace, of course).

Questions, comments, suggestions, tips are welcome! We're hoping this will be a great discussion about what works at Sedo and what might not (please be constructive and respectful to others in your feedback) so that everyone involved can benefit and learn from it.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas! Happy Holidays!

Always,
Keith
(on behalf of Sedo)

I noticed this too a few weeks ago. But for some reason I thought that they did it on purpose. This way there is less chance of making a mistake, since the OK button is located next to the price, then before clicking it we once again pay attention to the price.

@Garet so you cannot edit the layout next to the domain or you are unable to click in the edit layout box, then click edit layouts, then choose the domain / domains and then finishing by clicking the green check mark at the bottom of that column

or both?

I can edit one layout a time -- next to the name. I cannot select more than one and edit via the column. The working on it wheel spins permanently when I do this.

I just tried to do a batch of 10. I saw the spinning too. but after a couple seconds I opened sedo again and checked and they did indeed update to a different lander.

Thank you for testing that, Bearded Goat. I just tried with four names. Spinning. Wait. Leave. Return. Not updated.

Fortunately, Sedo has been able to replicate this. Many times I have been told to expect a fix soon. I've been using Sedo for slightly longer than forever. I don't remember having an issue like this and definitely not one that lasted so long. One day I logged in and the Layout column had gibberish like some underlying code exploded. It has not been functional for me since then. The gibberish was replaced with "Please select a layout" for all of my names.

I just tried again. The spinning never stops. But when I load sedo again the pages updated to the new lander. I have never seen this one before. I have changed whole pages at a time a few months back and was working as well. Maybe different groups of customers get different problems lol

Hi @Sedo Chris,

The same issue occurs in the pagination area. Manually entering a page number and pressing Enter does not work. Since this is the only way to quickly jump to a specific page, this option is now unavailable, and there is no alternative ‘OK’ button to confirm the page number.

In addition to the previously reported issue with changing prices in the Price column, please include this related issue in the same ticket. Thanks.
Hi

Thanks for the info, I will add this information to the ticket.

Cheers Chris

@Sedo When will this issue finally be resolved? When I go to "Your Control Panel > Auctions" and click on one of the filters: "Leading Bid", "Your max bid" and "Auction Ending" they are inneffective. When I click on leading bid it should show me in descending order (or ascending order if I click on the filters 2 times) the highest bid but instead it doesn't show the domains in order based on the filter. The same happens with "Your max bid" and "Auction Ending". When I click on the arrows it shows the domains in random order. This is very confusing for someone who has in his wishlist many domains that are on auction.
@Sedo Would you be kind enough to answer me?

Hi @Future Sensors
I'm thinking of moving part of my portfolio from Afternic landers to "Sales Lander 15". What do you recommend in this case? sl1.sedo or ns1.sedoparking? I see that you recently communicated with Sedo about this. Thanks in advance

Hi @Timkh

Sedo's #15 lander is a good sales lander, indeed.

Specifically for this #15 lander, I'd go for sl1.sedo.com and sl2.sedo.com if you're starting from scratch.

But, if you already have ns1.sedoparking.com and ns2.sedoparking.com configured for your domains, and TLS (https) certificates have already been created, I'd continue using these nameservers, and just change the lander to #15. You will get similar functionality, although it's technically on other Sedo infra in the background.

Thanks for your response.

I sold a domain via Sedo. It is/was a small sale (approx. $1.8k), but I was excited because it was my first Sedo sale, etc.

Over a week later now, Sedo hasn’t been able to complete the domain transfer let alone proceed to payment. Sedo support has said the buying registrar is having difficulty restarting* the transfer, they’ve said they’ve prompted the registrar a few times, and they’ve also said they can’t verify what the issue is.

In short, it looks like the sale has been bungled and will be cancelled. And my excitement has given way to disappointment and more.

* restarting the transfer --- I mistakenly rejected the first (auto) transfer-out of the domain from my registrar’s end, but I provided the Sedo team with the auth code immediately after.

Update: Issue resolved, payment received.

Thank you, @Sedo.

Exactly what I've been doing based on Future Sensors conversations... all new names go to sl1sedo.com and older names stay with sedoparking and I just choose Lander 15.

I do wonder what benefit there would be to switch the old? Perhaps though you lose 1 day of marketing waiting for the SSL to be reissued?

@Future Sensors, many thanks for the detailed answer. Yesterday I moved about half of my portfolio to sl1.sedo.
I was going to check out the new landers today, but Sedo has been under maintenance for an hour now. Maybe this is because many people are switching to Sedo nameservers?

Dan.com is shutting down, which is a great opportunity for Sedo. when will you support installment payment?

Hi @Sedo Chris,

There’s a small issue while editing prices in the dashboard, specifically in the “Price” column, and not the “Min. Offer” column.

When editing a price in the “Price” column, it can only be confirmed with the “OK” button, not with the Enter key.

However, editing a price in the “Min. Offer” column can be confirmed with both the “OK” button and the Enter key.

Could you please investigate why the Enter key isn’t working for confirming the newly set price in the “Price” column?

Thanks a lot.

Hi Future Sensors,

Thanks for the feedback, I have asked our Tech Team to investigate and repair this issue as even though I cant replicate the issue I have seen a few issues complaining about this. Hopefully it will be resolved asap. We apologies for the inconvenience.

All the best
Chris
Hello @Sedo Chris, is there any progress on this issue?

Did SEDO advertise the current .AI auction, or are these domains from the previous .AI auction?

@Sedo

I've checked a few domains using the sl1.sedo.com and sl2.sedo.com NS and get a Cloudflare chaptcha first. Is it really necessary? I think It would be better if visitors see the landing page righ away

Other thing: I would like the option to set a new default minimum offer

Thanks

I added a pile of domains to last night, and as is common, four domains got stuck at Sedo, but these are all like the others and had a TXT code accessible through online tools (I use one alias domain for DNS text so they are all essentially the same domain), but for some technical reason Sedo didn't catch those four (not the same registrar either).

Three got resolved by last night, but this morning one domain is still sitting in limbo for over a day and I don't think it will ever resolve. Also, I have to change my nameservers to landers so I don't want to wait forever, so...

Is there any way to a) delete this stuck domain and input it again or b) force a manual reauthorization?

Otherwise, I guess this domain will be missing on Sedo, as I have no time for this crap.

I noticed a sudden surge in offer views. It seems there's no Cloudflare check before showing the lander, is this temporary (I hope not) or an A/B test?
