Hi All! :hi:

By request, we've decided to start a thread dedicated to Sedo. We're looking for invaluable insight into what domainers want and need out of our parking program (and marketplace, of course).

Questions, comments, suggestions, tips are welcome! We're hoping this will be a great discussion about what works at Sedo and what might not (please be constructive and respectful to others in your feedback) so that everyone involved can benefit and learn from it.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas! Happy Holidays!

Always,
Keith
(on behalf of Sedo)

Sedo is behind numeric auction game, juice seem to have vanished for the time being.

Are you referring to the upcoming numerical auction?

Those chosen so far are very average. .us .nl,.in . and that's being kind!

Yes wot.

After a very quiet period in relation to offers via Sedo I have suddenly had 3 in the last 2 weeks.

One completed and paid. One sent to auction. Both smallish but business nonetheless.

The 3rd one looks like it might be going belly up. Negotiated to our mutually agreeable price, that was 8 days ago and no payment/contact received by Sedo. This is lowish $xxxx and a well established Sedo member so quite surprising.

@wot ...rolls off the tongue is very funny.

So "you" see the level of crap allowed into auction by someone. Then "you" submit some names again for consideration into the GD auction after a long period of not doing so due to frustration..... and surprise, all rejected as fast as they can be submitted due to "quality"

"you" is obviously me. And I am an idiot. I am sure there are many more out there.

Had to agree with this!

a wise domain investor has bid on dveloppez.com...and all of the other extraordinary typos, etc. I will be excited to see the winner of all of these premium names!

Most of 'em have privacy on also... likely due to sheer humiliation.

What a crock.

Who would keep those steaming turds since '03 - '05 ? ? ?

I take it back. "Buyer" paid! Had quite a few that did not!

Quite a few .info added that will be lucky to get bids and a few more obscure extensions. A few OK ones but there must be better ones to come- surely!

I sincerely hope that Sedo ban the person who did it. I guess they will not have too far too look, what a dickhead! I think he or she placed a bid on mine as one bid has now disappeared also.

Another reason I hate Sedo: Tried to delete a name. Sedo won't let me as they want me to counter an offer THAT EXPIRED OVER 5 MONTHS AGO!!! I'll just change nameservers at this point. Sedo, you suck.

Amazing. I think Sedo has really gone off the deep end. Finally jumped...

On July/1/14 I received an invitation to submit numeric domains for their Numeric Auction in September. The requirements are here:
https://www.sedo.com/us/popups/numeric-auction-submission-criteria/

I submitted my three domains on July/1/14, same day I received the invitation to. Today I receive a rejection notice for all three..
11540 .com
07030 .mobi
28277 .mobi

My reserves were low (under 500)

I guess it wouldnt bother me so much if I didnt see the domains which have been accepted AGAINST the posted requirements. Has anyone seen the domains allowed in this auction?
https://sedo.com/search/searchresult.php4?tracked=1&partnerid=315993&language=us

Out of the 206 (as of this post) domains accepted, 123 were accepted where were not ".COM/ .NET / .CN / .COM.CN". That violates the Extension requirement #1
"Preferred TLDs : .COM/ .NET / .CN / .COM.CN" right off the bat.

And that leaves less than 1/2 the domains accepted as being Preferred TLDs : .COM/ .NET / .CN / .COM.CN

Now you may say "well your reserves were too high". Nope. I didnt get the

Reserve Price too high = The domain fulfills all quality criteria; however, the reserve price you suggested was considered too high by the Sedo brokerage team. Our brokerage team recommends the reserve price in the parentheses after your domain name above for the domain to qualify for the Premium Numeric Domain Auction. Please apply again with this new reserve.

disqualification notice for any of the three.

So, this auction, like the others, is a joke. I see no reason to continue submitting decent names at decent reserves to a black hole which doesnt even pay attention to its own rules.

it really is a crock of crap. Who is in charge over there and don't they care that literally awful names are taking up there pages and not selling? The person responsible for letting these names into auction should not have a job.

The same lot of crap that ended the other day with NO bids is scheduled as upcoming again. Not only on auction one time, but now twice? Channle3.com, DorkingHalls.com, etc.

I think if you follow the counter offer route before you get to a commitment you will have an option that says if you no longer own the name then it will be deleted and removed from your account. Use that option and relist later if you wish.

Here is the key to getting a name accepted in the numeric auction. Go to your favorite registrar. Hand register 11800.org. Bingo! It's in the auction. Reserve 100-499 euros. Glad to help.

All of my numeric.cn were rejected although they were 5 numbers but then I see quite a few 5 number acceptances.

I know the Chinese market quite well and at least 2 of those rejected are good with the right numbers and in the right sequence that the Chinese prefer, but obviously the selection committee know better!

I think Sedo started going bad years ago when the very company that you are promoting took a significant shareholding in them. (That is 1&1)
I know I've said it before in previous threads; but read the horror stories about 1&1, and then look at Sedo. I think some of 1&1's staff may have moved over to Sedo and applied their thinking, and lack of morals.
Regards
Ralph.

@ecalc that particular method only works for a select few at sedo

I almost hand reg. a name a few months back for 99 cents. I didn't. About 2 weeks later, the name was scheduled into the great domains auction with a reserve of $1000 - $4999. But again, it was owned by someone who receives special privileges at sedo.
