Hi All! :hi:

By request, we've decided to start a thread dedicated to Sedo. We're looking for invaluable insight into what domainers want and need out of our parking program (and marketplace, of course).

Questions, comments, suggestions, tips are welcome! We're hoping this will be a great discussion about what works at Sedo and what might not (please be constructive and respectful to others in your feedback) so that everyone involved can benefit and learn from it.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas! Happy Holidays!

Always,
Keith
(on behalf of Sedo)

...sedo was not perceptive enough to get the .me extension for its future use...http://www.chefpatrick.com/sedo-is-in-the-porn-business/

had to go to sedo.com/me

Goes to show that they are still dwelling in the 20th century and not concerned about what the future of cyberspace has in store for the average internet user. There do exist other realms (extensions) that the new generation of users are not only familiar with but quite comfortable using. Sedo should get on the 21st century wagon as it is steadily pulling away from the rusting monolith...

Hi yes here is another new small issue in the Custom View:

If you go to change the price of a Buy-It-Now domain, you get this message:

This option cannot be edited as the domain is not listed for sale. To list the domain for sale please update the "For Sale" option within the Sales Setting View.

But it is already for sale, but the message is worrying so you go to Sales View to check, and find you can edit it there.

Sedo, please could you FIX this?

You've also changed the layout in Sales View so it is a fixed width that is too wide for my ordinary laptop. So it is becoming slow and difficult to change prices, and it now takes many steps whereas before I often changed them directly in Custom View, usually changing a Fixed Price listing up or down in response to events.

It seems like layout changes were made without enough testing. Well, you've had the feedback now.

This worthless domain was created on 25th Jan 2012, almost 3 weeks old and it has one bid of 28,000GBP!

I am willing to bet that there is no way that this completes, any takers?

and you can put in there 1and1 and their shaddy practices like moving a domain that has just expired to domcollect's portfolio.

I noticed this just a few hours after the bid came in and I thought immediately something was strange.

Could be some kind of money laundering.

But they somehow qualified for Sedoโ€™s Premium certification.

What are the odds just days after creating a name, (and not even a good one) a name that has never been created before and you not only get an offer but you get an offer of $44,000 USD?

Something smells really fishy and it's not last weeks halibut.

I'll bet Ron doesn't even list this one.
For some reason Ron didn't list ForexStars.com on DNJournal a couple of months back and it sold for $100,000.

I think sometimes if they smell fishy he stays away from listing them.

But we will see.

Hi,

Please keep in mind, the forum is not a platform for support. If you have any questions or concerns about the site and/or our services, we'd be happy to assist you through our support center at support.sedo.com

I noticed that some customers were having difficulty reaching us. We like our customers to be able to contact us, and I wanted to make sure this service was available to everyone. I'm glad to hear this issue seems to be resolved.

I've passed on your concerns about shill bidding to our security department and cited the examples you have provided. If you have concerns in the future about potentially suspicious activity, please send us an email and we can check into it right away.

As for the GoDaddy SedoMLS question, all you need to do to ensure your domains are distributed at Go Daddyโ€™s site is to set a โ€œBuy Nowโ€ price for those domains in your Sedo account. Any "Buy Now" name will be displayed in search results at GoDaddy.com, if a customer searches for a domain or keyword related to your domain name.

Thanks!

But this still excludes some extensions and I can no longer find a list of those extensions at Sedo http://www.sedo.com/us/sedo/sedomls/ - is there one? Can someone post a link to it?

Just tried searching for a geo at Godaddy which I have in a less popular extension - it is taken in all extensions. Does not appear as available at Godaddy / MLS, but further down that page it lets me backorder it in that same extension from Godaddy for a low two-figure sum. Is that helping anyone?

So back to my original question - when will ALL extensions be fed into Sedo's MLS?

I have sent so many regarding shill bidding and phishing IDN my fingers have been typed down to the bone!

In general zero action!

If you want to see the garbage that you guys are promoting check out the "featured domains" (again)and current auction thread.

Quite appalling that this has been allowed to go on for so long, shows little respect for genuine customers and a very bad image for the supposed number 1 domain platform on the net.

They read this and then refer you to the customer service, here is a question why not extend yourself and consider this to be customer service ??

Sedo has some new rules. From their email:
Sedo said:
... When available, Buyers are given the option to submit offers below a Buy Now price listed on a domain detail page. ...

Huh??? I thought Sedo research showed that three times as many sales would be made with Buy-it-Now, that seeing an empty Make-An-Offer space intimidated customers. Well, if there is a place on the offer page to make an offer then the domain is not fixed price and the customer is confused - and bids $60, if he bids at all.

A make-an-offer space removes credibility from the price given. This can be an option, but it is a terrible idea to require it.

I totally agree. When I read that email from SEDO I was like "huh?". They are probably going to raise their commissions again next.

Here is the SEDO survey on their new "features" soon to come out. I suggest everyone take it. It's very quick.

Studys have shown that if the seller lowers their asking price to a level that makes a deal possible Sedo will make coin %100 of the time whether you do or not.

So Sedo will constantly be searching for ways to get sellers to accept lower offers.

On another topic of the email, Zero Click interesting depending on the way eligibility is decided.

That's great, but if the domain were to sell on Godaddy do we still only pay the 10% commission fee since we have our domain parked on Sedo and it has the Buy Now price?

I haven't singed up for the SedoMLS Prenium but I see my Buy Now Parked domains are listed for sale on Godaddy.

I just want to make sure if my domain were to sale on Godaddy I dont have to pay more then the 10%.
