Hi All! :hi:

By request, we've decided to start a thread dedicated to Sedo. We're looking for invaluable insight into what domainers want and need out of our parking program (and marketplace, of course).

Questions, comments, suggestions, tips are welcome! We're hoping this will be a great discussion about what works at Sedo and what might not (please be constructive and respectful to others in your feedback) so that everyone involved can benefit and learn from it.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas! Happy Holidays!

Always,
Keith
(on behalf of Sedo)

One of my domains is having a problem. The message "We are currently verifying the following domains" has been showing for the domain for a month already. Can someone suggest a solution?

BTW, revenues made from SEDO for me are quite low even I've optimized keywords. However, one of my domains have been making good money with SEDO. So I think it depends.

Unique totals

Hi Keith

Can you tell me if its possible to get the total uniques per domain from each month in 1 shot or do I have to manually add each month up for each domain?

Can you offer under a basic acct this option for me to get the total uniques per domain per month?

Not sure if I made this clear or not

thx

Click on the link on the lefthand side that says "Domain List". Then click on the bubble on the top of the Domain". After you change the setting to by date, change the time period to "Select Months" and choose the amount of months you want. Then hit the "Update View" button. This will show you your entire portfolio's statistics by month. If you want to view a particular name's monthly statistics, just select whichever name you want from the list on the top right of the page, under the "select all/deselect all" buttons.

I think that this is what you are looking for, right?

Sedopro Requirements Change

I am posting here to notify people that the minimum requirements for consideration into the SedoPro program have changed. It used to be a minimum of 200 domains or $200 a month in earnings minimum. Now it is a minimum of 1000 domains total or $300 a month in earnings (โ‚ฌ200 monthly). Everyone should keep this in mind when requesting a code or when giving one to someone else.

Sedo (Pro) is the PREMIER parking service for EUROPEAN traffic. I am getting great CTR on my european names, and decent EPC.

While people at other parking companies keep seeing decreased PPC, mine is infact INCREASED / Steady over the last year. Lets just say, I'm loving it :)

Sedo Pro and Sedo difference is huge :). I think its good to restrict the amount of members. Quality over Quantity. $300 a month is not hard at all to maintain, the ones getting less then that aren't worth the amount of money Sedo throws at them via support.

I don't know - I probably yammered about this before. I have been with Sedo since 2004 and currently have approx 300 domains parked.

In the past two or three months everything seems to have gone south.

Stats so far this month:

Clicks: 50
Revenue: $2.68

... pathetic ...

I am feeling the pain with Sedo pro as well. I have a portfolio of over 800 domains with them. 3800 uniques a day earned only $34 yesterday. Back a couple months ago these would be earning close to $100. About to move them soon if things don't improve.

How to Improve Parking Performance on Sedo

Here is a quick guide on how to improve your parking performance on Sedo. Reps are always appreciated, but are certainly not necessary.

Many of you may already know this stuff, but to those of you who don't it will be a big help.

1) Choose a domain to optimize. It may be a good idea to open your "Domain List" and then view your portfolio from highest traffic to lowest. The best names to perform this on are your names with the most traffic, with good earnings, or with a high international traffic base. This also works well on names you are very familiar with.

2) Go the the domain "Configuration Page" where you can edit just the one domain. This has more optimizing features than the "Domain Optimizer Page".

3) On this page you will see a section titled "Language-specific Keywords". This section shows you the languages that your domain gets most of its traffic from. Change each languages keyword to something that is in that language and makes sense. If you do not know the language, use one of the online translator tools like http://www.google.com/language_tools or http://babelfish.yahoo.com/?fr=avbbf-us. Any language not represented on these sites can be found by searching on Google for a more specific translator.
Hint #1 - you can also use the Google keyword tool on foreign words https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal to find out if the keyword is decent.
Hint #2 - try to get a little more simple with the translator. Use one good keyword instead of a group of the (i.e. "business" instead of "business financial services" that way you are less likely to get a wrong translation.

4) Click "Save Changes". If any of the keywords come back with a red dot, try another one.

5) Now go down to the section titled "Edit Related Links". This will default on the most popular language, so be careful. First change it to the language you are most familiar with. Now change all of the related links to something that makes sense and that you think will A) have high payouts and B) be what people who visit the site are interested in. You can use the Google Adwords tool for ideas. Now if any of the other countries speak the same language or similar (i.e. US and UK, DE and CH, FR and BE) I would suggest going below the related links where it says "Apply" "On This Language Only" and pull the drop down menu to the other language that the same keywords will work for. Then hit "Save Changes".

6) If your language is not the highest traffic language, I would also try my best to change the related links on the most popular language of the domain.

7) While you are on this page you might as well make sure that the category/picture/template is to your liking. Also, if you a Sedopro member, you can add pop-unders from this window if you so desire.

8 Repeat steps 1-7 for as many names as you want.

You can see statistics for the other categories, so if you show none, then people are not clicking on them. You should start to see visits and clicks on the categories within a few days (for at least some names you make these changes on).

Hi Everyone!

I hope you are all well and enjoying the summer weather. Although I will miss the NamePros community, I will be stepping down from my role as Sedo's rep on this forum. In the best interest of this thread and the NamePros community, two of my colleagues will be taking my place to monitor and respond to questions, comments, feedback, and other concerns related to Sedo.

I've enjoyed my time here and will still be available at Sedo if you need me. Also, any unanswered questions can be addressed at http://support.sedo.com.

Otherwise, please be on the lookout for Carolyn and Stephanie as the new Sedo NamePros reps. The transition may take a few days, but they're both very knowledgeable and should do a great job here. I've asked them to log in and introduce themselves soon, and I know you'll all give them a warm welcome to NamePros. :)

Best wishes everybody and happy domaining!

Always,
Keith

I am sure that everyone here will miss your contribution to this board. Two dedicated support members should be nice.

Allow me to be the first to welcome Carolyn and Stephanie. :loveyou:

Thanks again Keith

errrr....thought I'd try Sedo a couple of months back and moved 500 names over. I was almost ready to switch back to parked when 1 of my names started doing extremely well. Enough so to make up for the lower return on the rest of the domains. So, I left the whole package there. Just got a message today stating that this domain had been collecting spam hits and all proceeds were removed from my account! Argh.... Why wait 2.5 months to tell me this? Was it to keep me interested enough to remain with you a bit longer? Further, why am I suppossed to trust your "advertising partner". Seems to me that it would be in their advantage, or yours to just delete higher paying domains, rather than paying the money owed. Last, who gets to keep the money that I'm no longer entitled to?

This email is in regards to your domain names parked with Sedoโ€™s parking program. We recently received a notification from our advertising provider that XXXX.com.... had what is considered to be โ€œspam trafficโ€, meaning that it did not convert for our advertising providers per our agreement with them.

1. Are you saying that nothing converted, or it did not convert as much as it should have?

2. You refer to your agreement with them, however, I was just wondering what agreement your talking about.

3. Last, the domain has almost equal hits on most continents. Wouldn't spam just come from one location?

I am not sure if Keith is officially gone already, so I will do my best to answer this for you. I know you want an answer from Sedo, but I will do my best until Carolyn and Stephanie come on here.

Sedo is one of the only parking companies that does not pay on estimates, but rather pays immediately. As a result, they sometimes pay way too much or way too little. Their system is designed to constantly correct itself, so if it pays you $.50 a day for three days, even though the name ended up making $1 a day, then the next few days should adjust to over $1, even if it still makes only $1 a day. This system gets more and more accurate the more clicks a name gets.

Their system is also designed to catch bots/spam/bad traffic. They have to really be on the lookout, because they pay out immediately rather than the next day, when they can correct things. If a name makes $0-$2 a day and all of a sudden makes $50 or $100 for no apparent reason, then it is probably not good traffic. If their system pays you too much, they may have to make a correction, because they cannot pay someone hundreds of dollars that were never paid.

I have had received a couple of emails from them about traffic spikes in the past. I explain that I did not know much about where the traffic is coming from beyond what they are showing. Sometimes they let you keep it, sometimes they don't. There has never been a time that they emailed me when the traffic was not abmnormally high. To be fair, the other parking companies often times show huge click increases for a day, that if paid would sometimes amount to $100's. The parking companies pretty much always revise them down to $0 the next day. That is what Sedo was forced to do here, because they probaby thought that the name would not get enough legitimate clicks to work on their system (it they pay $.03 a click from now on, but they can't get paid on any more clicks for the name, they are out all of the money).

If this is incorrect, please correct me Sedo.

If this does not pertain exactly to your case, then PM Sedo on here and they can discuss account specific things with you.

Thanks, Sleepys for all your help and info. The name in question only made about $3 a day, and the amount owed is just $65, so it's not really that big of a deal and your letter shed some light on the situation a bit. I was just upset because I don't think it's right to withhold payment without a good explanation as to why. But, I can see their point as well. It would probably be expensive and time consuming to research each domain on a case by case basis.

Well, it seems as if you know a lot about Sedo from your other posts. If your interested in optimizing my domains for Sedo, or know of anyone in that business, PM me, and I'd gladly pay or trade domains for the help. Rep Sent
