Hi All! :hi:

By request, we've decided to start a thread dedicated to Sedo. We're looking for invaluable insight into what domainers want and need out of our parking program (and marketplace, of course).

Questions, comments, suggestions, tips are welcome! We're hoping this will be a great discussion about what works at Sedo and what might not (please be constructive and respectful to others in your feedback) so that everyone involved can benefit and learn from it.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas! Happy Holidays!

Always,
Keith
(on behalf of Sedo)

Still no payment or conatct from sedo, Im now going to complain to my domain reg to see if they can do anything about this and complain to icann.

Tried to call sedo today, twice using contact details as per their site:
How to Contact Sedo
Mail: Sedo, GmbH
Im Mediapark 6
50670 Cologne
Germany
Telephone: +49 221.34030.230
Facsimile: +49 221.34030.102

The phone is answerd by a company who have nothing to do with sedo, tell me they get a lot of calls for sedo and asked me who/what sedo was?

This is madness...

Your transfer specialist has remained in contact with your via the Transfer Center. Please follow her instructions to complete the transaction. As was stated previously via PM, please contact our GmbH office at +49 221 340 30.

I won a domain in auction and paid a week ago. Waited for 5 days and then asked for the status of transaction via the tranfer center. It has been two days now. No response. If cannot respond even after 2 days whats the transfer center for?

I just had my account closed on Sedo.
2 Days after completing a transaction for POOE.com

Reason for closure: UNKNOWN
They wouldn't even e-mail me letting me that they have closed my account.

I only found out now when I tried to login and couldn't.

I have completed over 10 transactions with Sedo and the least they could do is tell me why they closed my account.

I haven't done ANYTHING wrong or never broke their TOS.
I can't think of a reason why they would close my account.

I have e-mailed their support and will wait for their reply.
I'm very disappointed of Sedo

Hi Stephanie,
Can you tell us what Sedo has in store for us RevenueDirect users, is the RevenueDirect platform going to continue or are we being migrated across to the Sedo platform? There was an April 27th deadline to open a Sedo account what is the timeline from here?
Thanks

Yes, I'd like to know what's going to happen regarding RevenueDirect/Sedo also. My main concern is the fact that both companies use the same Google feed, but I earn much more daily rev at RevenueDirect than I do with a SedoPro account.

I hope RD doesn't merge in to Sedo entirely.

I did e-mail my RD account manager on 28th June and got this reply:

As far as changes with RD in the coming months are concerned, RevenueDirect will continue to function as it has in the past for the foreseeable future. It will be business as usual in every way possible. If any changes do occur, you will be notified well in advance.

See, the problem with Sedo parking, is the fact that they 'estimate' your parking CPC and give you what they think you should be getting, that's why the stats are updated realtime (well, hourly). But with RevenueDirect, the stats are updated the folowing day, when they get the true results back from Google (minus their cut).

If RevenueDirect goes 'bye bye', and Sedo take over with their wonderfull system of well... lies, I'd reccomend moving your portfolio to namedrive.com if you need a parking company with a Google feed - they give you true results the following day, like RD do.

Same thing here!

Same thing happened to me this morning - woke up to find the "your account has been suspended" email and access to my domains blocked.

No specifics at all, just: "We recently received a notification from our advertising provider that a significant portion of the traffic associated with your domain names has been deemed as โ€œspam trafficโ€ and is therefore ineligible for Sedoโ€™s parking program."

The troublesome thing is that they offer no evidence to support their decision and no apparent path of recourse. How can anyone do business with this company knowing they could at any time pull something like this?

In my case the numbers are smaller - a couple dozen domains and income often 50 cents per day. I did absolutely nothing to send traffic to the domains and only bought the domains to use existing inbound link traffic to go to Sedo's parking page. If I'd been running a scam it was a pretty crappy one - spending hours tweaking the design and keywords for the landing pages and getting a few pennies back. In reality Sedo may have done me a favor in convincing me that this type of domaining really isn't worth the effort (especially if a parking company can randomly trash your work and keep your earnings without notice)

Hello,

When we are notified by our advertising partner that the traffic to a domain is spam, we must cooperate with their decision. However, you may contact our Security and Compliance department regarding this at [email protected] for further information and a possible resolution.

Hello,

I won an auction yesterday and paid for it within the minutes it ended... However, it is still shown as unpaid...

Beside, not sure why but in my Buyer Control Panel, when I select "Show all entries" in the selection box... The domain name I won reads:

The other party has cancelled the negotiation.

It was a no reserver auction so... Am I missing somthing here?

WillCast is my sedo account.

If you submitted payment via PayPal, the payment won't be processed until a couple of business days.

Also, you may communicate with your assigned transfer specialist through Sedo's Transfer Center by following the steps below:

1. Log into your Sedo account.
2. Click on โ€œTransfer Centerโ€ under the โ€œMy Sedoโ€ menu.
3. Click on the specific domain name from the โ€œTransfer Overviewโ€ page.
4. Add your text to the comment box.
5. Choose whether your Technical Assistant can see the comment.
6. Click the โ€œSubmitโ€ button.

Submitted comments and messages from your transfer specialist will appear in the Related Communications column on the โ€œTransfer Statusโ€ tab. These comments will be sorted by date.

Hi,

When a seller uses your offer to start a public auction, the old negotiation thread will show that the seller canceled the negotiation, because the seller started a public auction for the domain instead of negotiating privately.

In addition, the payment for the transaction in question has been processed. Please communicate directly with your transfer specialist in the Transfer Center of your Sedo account to facilitate the domain transfer.

I tried to add adult domain to sedo today - nothing special, just ordinary adult acronym, nothing illegal. That domain is already listed with sedo in 10 other extensions. And thats what I got -

****: We're sorry, but we cannot allow you to add this domain to your account due to a potential violation of Sedo's policy against domains that include obscene or illegal subject matter.

Can i get any explanation for that? I understand illegal subject thing, but whats with obscene? I think 70% of my sedo domain sales was adult, 'obscene' domains. Is there a new policy regarding adult domains at sedo or just filter glitch?

i have this problem too. i guess, i have to send PM to you.

Thank you.

Sedo invoice

Well, I see this problem is being discussed on other forums right now, but i would like to bring that topic here -

I have sold domain through sedo and got this message :

"For his records the buyer has requested an invoice. Please issue one with the full amount xxx with the following details. [buyer details]"

First of all, if I make invoice for the full amount, I have to pay tax for the full amount, but I am NOT getting full amount from sedo (-10%). If sedo is acting as a seller on my behalf, why sedo doesnt make that invoice?

Second, I dont own company or a firm related to domain/IT industry and I cant issue official invoice. I would have to ask somebody to do it for me. My question is the same - why sedo does not issue that invoice as my broker?

And, does anybody have some domain invoice template? Thank you :)

Support

Hello there,
I have been trying to send a message to Sedo.co.uk for some time now; but the site links don't work. A message cannot be sent without the required field "Topic" This does not work.
The reason I wanted to send a message is this:- I visited Sedo at the Internet World Show at Earls Court London, and was surprised at the lack of interest to existing customers. I know I am only a small fish in the pond; but a little more recognition would have been nice. They were offering a free domain name valuation, and took the details of one of my domains which is parked with Sedo. I have not heard anything since.

Completely right. Additionally, it would be wrong to make an invoice addressed to the buyer IMO, because you donยดt sell directly to him.

Recently I asked SEDO about the necessity and legality of this invoice, but they kept their opinion. (However, the sale went through without invoice, I got my money.)

And: Why should a buyer need another invoice? SEDO already provides a contract and a payment order (look into Transfer center, Documents).

I found an invoice template in Word that has been sufficient for SEDO.
The problem I have been having relates to the request for technical details of the transfer. I submit that information (usually numerous times) but it will not show in the "transfer centre" as relates to the domain I have sold. It is necessary that I enter this information in "related communications" and it is then seen by the transfer agent at SEDO.

This is obviously getting out of hands for sedo. Same thing happened to me. My traffic was 100% legit (hell, there was almost no traffic at all!)

I believe I managed to complicate things for myself, but a file of the invoice is available at:

SCMRC - Sobriety and Peace Of Mind

On the left, at the bottom of the "Links" column is "Invoice." Click on that and you will be given the option to download the file.
