Hi All! :hi:

By request, we've decided to start a thread dedicated to Sedo. We're looking for invaluable insight into what domainers want and need out of our parking program (and marketplace, of course).

Questions, comments, suggestions, tips are welcome! We're hoping this will be a great discussion about what works at Sedo and what might not (please be constructive and respectful to others in your feedback) so that everyone involved can benefit and learn from it.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas! Happy Holidays!

Always,
Keith
(on behalf of Sedo)

Spaceship does not appear in your drop down menu (either on the short list of network eligible or on the long list). And no not a cache issue.

You were asked if we were to use Namecheap as the registrar when it is at Spaceship, but I believe did not answer this.

I hope you will soon add Spaceship to the list of registrars as I prefer to have that information correct and not simply blank.

Thank you,

Bob Hawkes

They did not answer, other than INCORRECTLY stating that Spaceship appears. It does not (as we keep pointing out to them).

@Sedo bug report: Whenever I go to see views the categories work except for the "Last 31 days". So if I look at views by Month to Date or May 2024 it shows Views. However, when using the "Last 31 Days" pull down, it shows n/a (even for names with views using the other pull downs). Can you please fix?

Hi Bob,

Thanks for your comment.

Spaceship is not a SedoMLS Premium partner, but we have added Spaceship to the standard list of registrars. So you can now select it in the list.

Have a great day!

Is there any way you can add an NS3 option for verification? Txt is a bit more advanced and requires more knowledge to do.

Hello NameGroove,

Thank you for your comment,

Currently Sedo has no plans to implement a third nameserver for domain verification. I will pass on your request to our business development team so it can be considered with future updates that we make. In the meantime the current verification process can be used to verify domains that you add.

All the best.
Chris

@Sedo

is there a bulk way to verify names registered at Godaddy?

Obviously, NS works if the names are not on Sedo. If they are already listed, you ignore those.

And why are you guys still not able to implement the unique NS feature everyone else has implemented?

Why are you ok with around 14% of all names listed at Sedo being inaccurate? Every time I add new batch, that is the roughly % it says needs the extra verification.

Hi Recons,

Thanks for your comment.

Please reach out to GoDaddy with any questions you have on bulk changes in their interface, Sedo can not help you with this.

Currently we're not planning to implement a third name server. In order to use the unique name server, you would have to have our standard name servers in place already. Meaning that if a customer does this then the domain will more than likely verify anyway without the third name server. For any domains which need additional verification. We also offer, TXT, CNAME, and where these options are not possible our security team are always willing to find individual solutions. We already offer many options to sellers with regards to domain verification. There are situations where the normal name servers are not enough like when the domain is already listed in another account and our system can not tell if the new owner is the true owner with just name servers alone. However this isnโ€™t a frequent occurrence and such domains can be further verified using the other methods that I have listed above.

All the best

Chris

Hi Biggie,

Thank for your comment.

If you would like our sales team to check if they can add more butter to your popcorn and see if you qualify for SedoPro membership. Please write to us from your email address on your Sedo account to [email protected] and one of our account managers will take a look at your account and let you know if you qualify.

All the best

You hear complaints over and over re the lack of NS3 nameserver verification. And yet, you have no implementation plans and continue to argue for TXT and CNAME which your customers are telling you are too difficult. When will you heed your customers concerns? Why entrench yourself in tech your customers are telling you doesn't work for them?

Hi Namesgroove,

I have given you the reason why Sedo has not decided to implement the third name server at this time in my last reply. We have the alternative options which I also pointed out in my last reply. If you still seem to be having issues verifying your domains, please call me *Chris* on my direct number +49-221-34030-152. I am available for the next hour today or alternatively tomorrow 9am until 5pm German time. I would be happy to discuss this in more detail with you via the phone and hopefully help you resolve this issue with verification.

Cheers Chris

You are not understanding the crux of my post. This is not a single occurrence. You are getting feedback over and over about the lack of NS3. Responding time and time again that you have alternate methods for your customers is not providing the best in service.

Instead, you may want to consider gathering the total number of complaints and submitting it to your Owner/CEO/CTO so they can see just how many complaints you are getting about this issue.

Your customers do not like your current solutions. They don't want to call Chris' cell phone directly. They just want a simple NS3 solution.

Apparently you feel your customers are wrong and you want them to see that it is easy enough to do it your way. I hope you read this thoroughly and try to understand how your responses are not helping your customers.

So, let me get it straight. Every time I list my names, about 1/7 is already listed and, thus, is invalid inaccurate listing. Yet, Sedo is content to keep it that way because somehow one in every 7 names being a fake listing is fine and "this isn't a frequent occurrence". What is a frequent occurrence in your opinion? 50%? 80%?

And, no, your support team has refused to be helpful in any way when I have addressed them. So, over 5000 of 35700+ names are listed by someone else. Sedo should be interested in getting this accurate and right, because for a normal business it would mean a) lost reputation and disgruntled buyers b) lost revenue for the shareholders and partners. Instead, the owner has to somehow be willing to spend hundreds of hours changing those parameters one by one to verify it.

Yet, Sedo has zero plans to implement the simplest and truest solution: a unique NS.

My .fi registrars don't offer full DNS control (e.g. TXT/CNAME editing) for free, and because .fi's privacy protection cannot be even temporarily removed, I have to pay extra subscription fee to the registrars solely for those times when ns1/2.sedoparking.com method doesn't work. Actually I'll stop paying and rather skip Sedo altogether on those occasions from now on. Obviously NS3 would solve that problem.

Good Morning all,

With regards to the few follow up posts about the third name servers, I will pass on your concerns to our business development team. In the meantime, you can reach out to me directly if you have any domains that have not verified with standard name server changes and we will find a resolution for you.

All the best

Thanks, Chris. It is encouraging to see that @Sedo is willing to listen to the feedback and possibly improve.

I changed the ns of the domains and then uploaded the list with the prices.

This is a fresh list from Afternic with all my names. From total of 35700+ names, 3908 did not get added, as they are probably listed by someone else.

I cannot even get the list of those, as when clicked it just shows text list of first 1000.

On top of that, thousands of names got "not for sale" and it cannot be changed in sales settings, as it advises.

I will PM you my login and maybe you can help me with this. If you cannot, I will just give up on Sedo completely and also will be advocating hard that Namecheap and others find another alternative to Sedo as Option 2 to Afternic, as it should be unacceptable that around 12% of my portfolio (and others') are wrongly listed hurting domain owners, partners, buyers etc., and another few percent cannot be listed for some mystic reason. This is 15%+ of total business waisted due to complete inefficiency.

If Sedo makes 7 figures in profit every year, this is 6 figures profit lost annually to the shareholders.

Hi @Sedo. Iโ€™m trying to list two new domains, but the website seems stuck on stupid about them. When initially added, they werenโ€™t pointed to Sedo, but that was quickly changed.

However, the domains still donโ€™t appear in my list (searching in my domains dashboard), yet if I try to add them again, I get a red error message before I can finish the process. Whatโ€™s causing this? Thanks in advance.
