Has anyone been scammed by Europe Registry?

This company charged me €430 for registration of one .tel domain. The registration never took place.

Europe Registry should have never charged my credit card for domain registrations in advance.

I do not want any ather domain, so i sent an e-mail to get my money back:

......Unfortunally i just wanted the registry of aaaa tel and not a credit für another domain, so you could not fullfill the contract.

Please pay not later than February 24th the amount back to the account you know.

If there are any problems, please contact asap!

I think they should give me the option of refunding the money. They instead issued me “credit” for future domain registrations, but i only want the aaa.tel-domain!.

Europe Registry insists they acted legally, point to their fine print, and refuse to issue me a refund.

Has anybody an idea, what to do? :td:

Many Thanks

What has zimmer.tel has to do with aaaa.tel ?
Perhaps they did a cut & paste of an other, unrelated E-mail.

Anyway, you need to check the terms that applied to the backorder. If their T&C at the time stated that in case of failure to secure the name, your prepayment would be credited to your account, and not refunded - then sorry you should have paid attention.

Otherwise, charge back.

Actually this is the only post the OP ever made...so doubt they'd come back to check this.

Yes. They stole 2 names off me and even said they had not charged me. When I showed the payment receipt and threatened legal action they refunded me. The names were available when I purchased them. It also took several emails for them to respond to me.

I was leary after a few hours when I had not received comfimation of domain registry. About a week later they told me that the names were not available. When I checked the who is regsitry I seen they had been recently registered. They are theives in my books. One of the reasons why hostnhub was started. I was raised honesty is the best policy. I wonder how many others they have ripped off?
