.US domains.US domains
Also lately I have noticed in many particular auctions systematically the high bidder doesn't pay, and the auctions restarts. Some examples are fed.xyz, inc.xyz, vjx.xyz, fjord.io and many more 3L .xyz and .io, that have been in auction for more than 5 consecutive times. Most of the times the bids are much higher than the true market value of the domain. So apparently someone bids his own domains to the point that there will be a satisfying offer from someone else, and of course he doesn't pay...
And my question is: Don't you use pre-authorized charges? How can this happen? Don't you keep these money afterwards?
Also are you aware that when someone bids an X amount of money (that you pre-authorized charge) and then puts another higher proxy bid in the same domain these funds are released?
For example if I bid in a random domain for $1000(that you pre-authorized charge), and just after I bid again for any amount from $1001 to $2999, you instantly release all my funds.

Also I wanted to ask:
1. Is there any timeline about the connection between the available money and the purchases?
2. The download auctions function works?

Thank you

Not all bidders are pre-authed. Here is how it works: https://help.sav.com/kb/en/article/...-pre-authorizations-after-bidding-on-auctions

Using funds to purchase domains - We are actively working on expanding our payment offering, including this. I don't have an ETA at the moment.

Auction Downloads - This is expected to go live next Tuesday afternoon.

I know how it works and that not all bidders are pre-authed.
But what is the penalty when someone doesn't pay the auction?
Because it happens very often.

Let me have our devs take a look at why this seller was able to transfer the domain out. When a domain is in an auction it should be locked so the domain can not be transferred out. My apologies about this.
The problem isn't fixed yet... I lost 2 more domains today. To be exact I did not received 2 domains that I won in the auction.

Quoting SAVs help Center:
"Unfortunately we cannot give you these domains because they have been deleted while in auction. We have sent a refund for those domains which should appear in your account shortly. We apologize for the inconvenience!"

Auctions For domains that isn't registered with SAV.com:
Ask the sellers to submit the authorization code before auction listing is approved. Just like how Epik does with their liquidation site.

I fully agree with you. They should ban any account don't deliver the domain.
Also require a minimum spend (like $10) for an account, to be allowed to auction a domain from another registrant.

Just to clarify that I m talking about auctions for domains registered in SAV.
The let the owner transfer out the domain, while it is participating in the auction!

Train the customer service reps. If they donโ€™t know then they should ask before answering customer questions. I asked why a domain I backordered didnโ€™t go to auction or placed in my account. CSR said domain was renewed. This was couple of days ago. I decided to check the domain today and itโ€™s in auction at Sav.

What I posted was a suggestion to Sav. I won a domain and now I have to wait for buyer to provide transfer code to Sav.

I fully agree with you.

That should not be happening. Domain should be locked once itโ€™s in auction.

It has happen to me 4 times. And the response I get is that something went wrong, they don't know what, they apologize and they refund me...

Hi @Sav.com , perhaps you might want to look into a glitch on the backorder reminder via email:

Hello ___ ,

The following backorder requests from your account will be attempted on 12/31/1969

Not a big deal if the function is still accurate .... but the date is not looking very good :)

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. As of this time our support team has resolved the issue.

Have you started working on using sav payouts to be used as funds?

A few months ago, I reported that the whois server address was incorrect in the whois information. It was subsequently corrected.

Recently, the wrong URL has reappeared again. I wrote back to support 2-3 weeks ago but it still seems unfixed.

Displayed: whois-service.virtualcloud.co
Correct: whois.virtualcloud.co

In addition, some extensions have direct contact form URL in their whois information, while others do not.

If potential buyers cannot reach me via whois, I cannot sell domains. If I can't sell, I can't buy new domains from SAV. Pretty simple math isn't it?

@Nick R @Sav.com

After admitting to an issue with backorder notifications (once again, this has happened several times a year for past few years), the Sav customer service rep who responded to my ticket told me to just delete the unwanted domains and that i'd be refunded. Deleted 15 domains, then was only refunded for 5, and then basically told tough shit, only getting 5 refunded, and the other domains were not able to refund or reinstate.

I can get past the broken notifications, i can get past not even wanting to refund. But to tell consumers to delete domains for a refund, with NO understanding if you'll actually be refunded in full, and no way to reinstate the domains if we're not refunded, is absolutely misleading and awful customer service.

My credit card company i'm sure will have no problem covering this in a dispute, but i shouldn't have to go down that road. What gives???

@Traderas - They are allowed to bid on future auctions BUT all bids they place will be pre-authed to ensure they have the funds to pay for their winning bid, should they be the high bidder. The auction will most likely get restarted too. If you want to DM me the details with the domain names I would be happy to take a look.

@alcy - We do not place a 60-day lock on domains transferred in nor do most registries. Some registries do place their own lock on domains that get transferred though. It sounds like that may be the case. Feel free to DM me the domain and we can confirm.

@silentg - That is something that we are considering. Regarding the ticket, feel free to DM me your email address and the ticket subject and I'll take a look.

@blogspotter - We have and are working on rolling this out as a bigger update later this year.

@kor - Both are used by us. One of them is the web UI, and one of them is the true port 43 WHOIS.

@CraftNames - Can you DM me your email address and the ticket subject. Let me take a look at the exact details and see what is going on.

So I don't really get why I would spot a domain on the drop at ED, do my research, it's available, I search for it on SAV .com it's available, I quickly proceed to buy, only to be told that order was unsuccessful and I'll be refunded
Just for me to check whois and the domain was registered on the same sav .com and have nameservers pointing to after.nic every dammn time.

Happened again tonight. This is not the first, second, third or fourth time I'm experiencing this, only at sav!! You guys believe some of us are really dumb yea. Think this cheap .com prices is now starting to really purge. Should start looking at other alternatives...
