Who is the safest registrar for .in domains ? I would especially like to hear from those who have developed high traffic .in sites.
Thanks in advance.

I think ResellerClub is a good registrar.

Couple of questions:
(i) How do you define safe?
(ii) How does safe relate to high traffic?

I have been considering the same issue - especially as .IN names are gaining value and are becoming important DN portfolio assets.
Others advice is appreciated.

Safe as in chances of your account getting tampered are low and information remains confidential.

If you have a valuable high traffic developed domain or even a nice domain, you obviously do not want to lose it, because some one was incompetent or wants to keep a "friend" happy .

In India, competence does not matter, contacts do.

Are you Indian?

I've been reading your anti-India comments now for a bit. Care to elaborate?

And if you think its so bad, why invest here?

Like some else said, in another post

I also feel that you have an extremely patronising and mocking atitude.

I have far more older, developed and popular .in sites than you have, which would not be possible, if I was not Indian and did not understand India better than most people here.

I do not reveal my site names on forums, because they are then subject to DDOS attacks. There is a lot of hype about .in, which is not based on facts or the ground reality.

I have purchased the domains for development only, not as an investment and there are very few companies anywhere who have more live .in sites than I have.

Funny how people find you patronising or mocking when you ask for some proof why they think what they do.

And since we're quoting please read my rejoinder too -

And this is what you said there and what caused me to react to your statement above -

The biggest anti- .in, co.in argument is common to doing all business in India, corruption is rampant, few people / companies play by the rulebook.

:) Freudian slip? Surely you meant .co.in? Though you probably do, I can't be sure since I don't even know one of yours. Which brings us to -

But people advertise URLs on television, the web and in print everyday... so I must be missing something here.

Tell me the facts and the ground reality.
I'm prepared to learn, what do you know that we should?

If your only argument is that foreign domainers are investing only in .in and not .co.in and hence it is 'hype' maybe you need to rethink things. Whether its from a profit perspective or a development one.

It happens in all countries, not only India. I have lived in for 10+ years in three different countries and believe me this problem is not limited to India. Also read about sex.com if you haven't.

Well, I have used enom.com and feel that being in US, alteast I can hold them accountable if I need to.

cheers,

The way you come across to people has nothing to do with you asking anyone for proof in a discussion. You're trying to turn things around by saying that people only find you patronizing and mocking because you're asking them for proof and they can't give it- that is not what it's about. It's about your word choice, tone, and laughing smiley faces. It's about your dismissal of someone's opinion because they disagree with your opinion. It's about you saying your opinion is based on "fact" while no matter what someone else says, their "facts" are wrong.

Give me the facts as you see them...

All I see is rhetoric and now you're being offensive by trying to flog a dead horse, I'll reply to your post in your thread.

Of all these posts I am yet to see one 'fact'.

People who advertise urls on TV have a lot of money from other sources or Venture Capitalists.
All my domains are purchased and websites developed are from my hard earned money, not some one elses, so I do not waste my money.
