Rightside announced today that last month it sold two of its Premium domains, which ranked as two of the largest per domain revenue transactions in Rightside’s history.

Sex.LIVE sold for $160,000 and Porn.LIVE went for $120,000.

The domain names rank #5 and #8 respectively in the all time New gTLD domain name sales. There have been 15 reported sales of $100,000 or more since the launch of New gTLDs in 2014.

Until I see a copy of the signed contract and corresponding bank transfer I'm VERY skeptical of this claim.

It's just PR puff. I could sell pointlessdomain.top to my cat and we could agree to say that we'd done a deal for $250,000 - but unless that is somehow audited, then it's just hot air.

Without money changing hands, it's meaningless. sold.domains has NO info at all about the methodology they use to verify sales.

Great sales for a .live, not sure how these registry's do it. Do they have super sales people selling the names or what?

I got an inbound inquiry today on one of my best nGTLD's and since email replies hasn't been working for me lately I thought I'd give him a call. I pitched a 6 figure price for the domain while on the phone and the guy couldn't end the call fast enough. :)

This wasn't a huge company but several million annual income...

Gotta be some good sales people at the registry for these type of sales....

It's easy. They "sell" the name to themselves, and then report the sale. The "sales" never actually happened. It's a fake sale reported to media to drum up interest. And EVERY time this happens people still lap it up and go "oh wow, that's impressive! I am going to pay more attention to this registry!"

As usual, a registry sale. Means nothing to your bottom line.

You would make the first actual 6 figure sale for a nGTLD in history
