The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
And for you the dot com domain is smart and buyers of dot com domains are smart.
This is your point of view. I respect that. I disagree but I respect. No problem.;)
The only problem is that I personally have in my portfoglio 50% of dot coms and 50 % of new gTLDs, then I do not understand if I'm stupid or smart... Fifty-fifty maybe :xf.grin:

This is not discussion about who is smart. You are talking in the point of view as a domain broker. I am talking in a point of view as a normal internet user. I would like to put a simple point infront of everyone. Its simple for anyone to understand. The internet is the only medium of free communication at this point of world. We as in world is facing lot of threats and difficulties. Lets make internet less complicated and make it easy for everyone to understand accessible.

If you really think why the android and iphone apps are more popular than the new gtld's if anyone one can think in this point of view. Earlier people are bad in remembering numbers so the naming system came. The naming system is getting complicated now a days so people are preferring to use apps in their mobile devices. Where you don't need to remember anything and you get access in just a click.

Simplification is something necessary. The ngtld's complicate things. I know about two tld's .property and .properties. If I own a real estate business why will I buy both the tld's and increase my IT investment. What is the difference between both of them other than singular and plural. If my logic is wrong then yes every one is smart other than me in the world.

You can't expect a common end user to be genius and remember or learn the technicalities. The things should be make simple and easy and the experience would be really amazing.

I would always prefer internet as a medium for communication than a place of business and scammers. Lets make internet easy and safe.

I have not said:
For you dot com buyers are smart and I disagree with that.
but I said:
For you new gTLD buyers are stupid and dot com buyers are smart and I disagree with that.
these are two different things... I think you are good for NBC or for CNN... :xf.grin:

You have a problem with .proprety and .properties but do you have the same problem with property.com and proterties.com?
we also have .CAR and .CARS.
Maybe for you ELECTRIC.CAR = ELECTRIC.CARS ???
Maybe for you if you buy ELECTRIC.CAR you have to buy ELECTRIC.CARS???
Ok, but what about the dot com?
ELECTRICCAR.COM = ELECTRICCARS.COM ???
if you buy ELECTRICCAR.COM you have to buy ELECTRICCARS.COM ???

Simplification is something necessary. The ngtld's complicate things.

ELECTRIC.CAR is more complicated than ELECTRICCAR.COM ???
360.VIDEO is more complicated Than 360VIDEO.COM ???

I don't understand and I disagree but I respect your point of view. ;)

for most internet users this is the case because they are really tech challenged. .com is something that everyone knows and understands. You need to think from the perspective of average joe not average joe domainer.

If you show them ELECTRICCAR.COM they will understand this is a website something you can visit on the internet, a startup or a company.

If you show them ELECTRIC.CAR and ask them what this is they will not know. Maybe some would answer: An electric car?

Also these are poor examples because both happen to be reserved by the registry like most better domains that makes sense. A domainer will not be able to sell these.

360.video is $60k per year and electric.car is not even available.

Why bother investing in a market where most domains that are of better quality can't be traded by domainers?

This is really logic101 that is failing here.

I guess who ever bought it for $3 million went broke afterwards, the "site" it's just a landing cams page and it's laughably sh*tty

3$ million for that HAHAHHAHA

sex keyword doesn't worth anything in the porn world, sex, lol
only 6 year old type "sex" for porn on Google

ufax.me ( I can see a business there )
securevpn.website ( I can see a business there )
tor.network ( I can see a business there )
(( NO the domains above are not for sale ))

Its in the name.

I personally have many 360. .... domains (Prices: $20 each, only one: $70) and they are good but I'm not here for promotion... And for one of them I received a good offer but not enough for me...

  • I bought - News.social via an expired auction.
  • I pay for the domain name, it renews.
  • The domain goes into my account.
  • I was excited since I wanted a News.tld domain for a project for awhile.
  • I check previous registrant, it was Name marketing team.
  • I'm nice, I email the marketing dept. asking if they want it back, if not I will use the domain.
  • 1 week later Scott McBreen, takes the domain out of my account
  • I get a paltry account credit
  • Scott McBreen believes this is the 1940s, him and Rightside/Name = FBI, and he can take whatever he and his company wants from Japanese-Americans - http://www.densho.org/
  • He licks his chops since Rightside is secretly using money from premium domain registrations to build new Japanese-American internment camps with gas chambers and ovens. He's leading this effort.
  • Jared Ewy calls me and says I can have the name back, if I do marketing video with Name/Rightside about the colossal F$@$-up.
  • I try to call Scott McBreen and leave a message, he refuses to call me back.
  • I try to call Jared Ewy back many times to try to be reasonable about the situation, he will only leave messages on my phone.
  • He admits in one of his messages he doesn't pick-up numbers from my US area code, WTF?
  • I decide I don't need to be a donkey/horse with a dangling a carrot (News.social) in front of me
  • I have nothing against donkeys/horses. At least they are honorable creature unlike the F$@-sH$#ts at Name/Rightside
  • I take a positive review of Name down from my website and remove any mention or positive mention. The review still had good SEO rankings.
  • I transfer most of my domains out of Name and will NEVER do business with Rightside
  • I post here
  • I HATE new gTLDs and write to several people explaining the situation who own Rightside extensions. They decide to stick with .COM.
  • Will only build on .COM/.ORG and ccTLDs in the future
  • Will tell everyone F#%%^ I can what a mistake new gTLDs are, and my story, to anyone that will listen for YEARS

If you believe these sales were real, you are extremely gullible
