Great sale :)
If I owned this domain name, I wouldn't sell it for less than $10m.

easy to say that as long as you don't own such a name and don't get offers in the millions..

i rather bet all my money on it that anybody else except for Rick would have sold this domain way earlier and for way less already to some enduser.. probably for a million, and never looking back..

We get to hear such impressive sales from him only because he is in the comfortable financial situation (since having sold Hotels.com for 4m early on) of saying no to even 7 figures offers until he is in the mood to sell..

Honestly that is very very overpriced. If I was going to spend that much I'd better get Porn.com not Porno.com.

"porno" is a russian translit...

"porno" is a russian translit...

I'm aware. But Porn is the category killer name not Porno. Porno is worth high six figures maybe. Schwartz found a way to milk the buyer.

not just russian.. Porno means Porn in many slawish languages (as in Czech where the Buyer is from) and also in German language..
English language is not the only language spoken in the world..

If you read the story Rick made over 10 million on this domain parked over the years so maybe the 8.8 million price tag isn't all that overpriced.

and this. The fact that the name made 7 figures just with parking and redirects speaks volumes.. Congrats to Rick.

That is a lot of money. Sales like this are good for the entire industry.

When people balk at your pricing expectations just show them the recent 2015 sales list.

Congratulations Rick.

Used to read his blogs which he stopped writing a few months back. Mostly liked him for his takes on "pigeon shit" domains.

Great news for .com and domain investing in general.

Congrats to Mr. Schwartz. I am fairly new but does the sale price suggest a Chinese buyer?

Rick is a smart investor! In last 2 decades, he has perhaps sold only 20 odd domains. That's about it. But the interesting part is that all domains are $1M+ (eBet.com), $3M+ (Candy.com + Equity) or $4M+ (Property.com + Equity)...

Great news for the entire dot com industry. I have the feeling will be seeing more record sales as great domains become ever more rare!

That is a fine sale, did he hold it? Registered it? I mean, when did he bought the domain and for how long it was in his possession?
