[REQ-BANNER+Logo] - For a Photography website

Type of Contest : Vertical Banner design with small logo
Prize : USD$80 via paypal
Contest End Date & Time : Friday June 26, 2009 at 12 midnight ( US Eastern Time )
Size Requirements : Vertical Banner 150px by 640px
Color Requirements : MUST go well with a light gray or black colored theme ( not decided yet ) background website

General Requirements :
Please use photoshop for this design.
This banner will be used in a website weekendfotography.com
A vertical banner design using the word "WeekendFotography" with emphasis on the "F" since its Fotography with a "F"
The banner should have a small unique logo that will go well with photography.

I want the design to be original, creative and with a "wow" effect. All artwork must be original and not from the web.

I'm pretty much open to any design idea.

The word design and the small logo should be on separate layers
All font files used must be included as well.

Finally, dazzle me with your design!

Ok, I'm in, but one question, what other colours will be included on the website?

I'm thinking to use black as the main background color. Other color could include light green, light gray and even light yellow.

i noticed you said please use photoshop for this project, is there a reason why as i like to use illustrator mainly.

The only reason is because I have photohop and I can make minor changes to it. I don't have illustrator so it will be harder for me to make those small changes.

Thanks for your entry.
Your design concept did not have the wow effect. Mainly its too dull. The jizaw pattern is not very pleasing. I would prefer your design to be based on the word "WeekendFotography" vertically with some clever artistry ( special fonts? or objects?)
For example, the letter "O" could be the camera's lens.......

I apologise if I have not given enough for you to go on but I hope you kinda know what I'm after.

Thanks for your entry.
This is a nice clean one. Overall design and color go well together. I like the film strip. The only thing I would like you to change is the top horizontal wordings. The top design and the color does not flow well with the rest of your theme.

Small change to the width, it should be 150 px. The height remains the same as 640px.

I still like your original design better...On the original design, can you just take out the sparkle on the horizontal wordings.

Hi J-Man,
Yes thats good. 2 more comments. Can you change the color of the horizontal wording? It doesnt sit right with the rest.
Also, change the font on the horizontal wording as well. The "T" between the 2 "O" can hardly be seen.

The outer design looks interesting. I'm not sure about the center part. Its drawing attention to nothing. The bottom wording in terms of color and font is not a fit to your theme.

Its a good idea if you can expend the center part of the design. Please show me more...
