Sometimes you get lucky with a sale of a name you never really expected to sell. That happened to me this week.

What did I see in name? I never much liked the name, but numbers persuaded me to give it a try. Exact term is registered in about 200 extensions, and on OpenCorporates the term is in more than 11,000 business and organization names, the vast majority in Brazil where I think the term is used more for advertising in general rather than the political tone it takes in much of the world. Anyway, happy to have the unexpected sale.

I like the Dynadot marketplace for negotiation and interaction. Sale already reported to NameBio under my Memorable.cc brand. Name had lander at Atom, and was also listed at Afternic and Sedo.
Commission: 10% (but I took it as account balance with 2% bonus, so effectively 8%)

Acquired via ExpiredDomains monitoring of single word .cc expirations. Thank you to that amazing (and free!) site.

As a 4-letter, single-syllable .cc word with a positive connotation and versatile potential application, the name is worth more than I sold it for. However, the sale price is at a level with a strong multiple for this one name, and I can use the funds with searching to replace with a number of names of comparable value.

Strong single-word .cc sell, but slowly. This was my 7th .cc retail sale of last 12 months, second of 2026, but I have about 525 .cc currently listed for sale. I have found it difficult to get more than $2000, clearly exceptions, so for my names at least the price point that sells seems mainly $1000 to $2000. I negotiated down for this name. Be very selective and research what sells in .cc words and the competition for any names you are considering.
