AfternicAfternic
Venue: Afternic
Price: $1,500(BIN)
Hold time: 1 year
D Sale.jpg

I bought this one last year and had intended to develop it, however, as you all would know the last year or so has been pretty tumultuous with heck lot of core updates at Google, devastating even established websites. Anyhoo, this is my first sale, so not complaining.

Gonep.com
Sale price: $5000
(I had BIN $5900, but I accepted their offer of $5000)
Net price: $4250
Venue: Afternic
Hold time: 4.5 years
Total Cost for registration and 3 renewals: $30.17

I just want to mention something that might be helpful for others.

When I received the offer, the net price that was appearing at my account was $3500 (30% fee), because Boost (5%) had been activated and because I had NamePros(25%) landers. Then I opted out from Boost service and I changed the Nameservers to point to Afternic, before I accept the offer.

So in this way the commission dropped to 15% from 30% and I enjoyed $750 more.

Afternic BIN, hold time 1 year 2 months.

I was testing different pricing and this sale is part of discounting tests. Paid for other sales though.

ERP domain sales are rare (many acronyms don't sell well), as demand is small and I wasn't really fond of this one. Steep discounting went well for this one ( price is 50% of the former retail price) and a couple other sales, which brought cashflow at a dry time so I'm happy with the sale even at reduced price. Edit: I intentionally priced it lower after renewal to see it sold befor the renewal ends, I do that sometimes with stuff I'm not very fond of.

But discounting didn't work well as a strategy in general, at least in 2024 I find it better to stick to retail pricing overall. Other price reductions failed to deliver any advantage.

Hand registered this domain last month when I was on my UK Road Trip, and some people on Twitter were saying Brits donโ€™t like .COMโ€™s ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ I build and manage "multiple client portfolios" as well.

Hand reg

Sold for less than I originally expected for a generic medical term, but using it as an action verb gave a dip in value (a reminder to pay attention to the question โ€œwho will actually buy my domain, and why is this the best possible domain for them?โ€). โ€œMedicalโ€ or โ€œPrescriptionโ€ would have a much higher value. And they of course were taken as hand reg options at the time of registration.

Afternic BIN, hold time almost 1year.

This domain is a handreg I made (not a drop) - in order to test waters with 3-word AI .com domains.

Actually this is what I personally call a 2.5 words' domain, as "netsec" is a known word mix referring to the network security industry.

Dropped the price before renewal and with just 4-5 days left it sold. Happy with that, pays for many others.

Edit: If bought for resale, I believe this domain can be sold for more, at least 3X purchase price
