I usually don't report small sales, but this had a funny story.
On Saturday night I was emailing with a friend how domaining was slow and he was telling me he wasn't sure of his portfolio because he had some "the", "and" and hyphen names. I told him I sell those all the time, as long as they make sense. I showed him a few and specifically showed him G/A/RA/G/E/A/N/D/S/H/E/D.COM , explaining how if the "and" logically linked two things or a "the" was better than without it, then it was likely a good buy.

So Monday morning I wake up to this:

I recently lowered names like this to 688 or 988 (from 1288 and 1688), because they targetted smaller companies and the economy might be hurting them. Anyway, yay !

I had this listed at $995 and received this offer via a broker at GoDaddy Auctions who said someone made this offer through their platform. Strange, because I don't have any domains listed at GoDaddy Auctions - perhaps the previous owner had it listed? Anyway, I lowered the floor price on Afternic to match their offer and it sold a few days later.

I had forgotten I owned this name and would not have renewed it. So I was happy to take the small sale.

I spend about 3-5 seconds deciding if I want a given name, so sometimes I end up with some duds. Nice when it works out anyway.

Details: Was thinking brandable as soon as I saw it. Approved and listed immediately on SH after aquiring. These types of misspellings can be hit and miss but I thought the popularity of "job" domains would make it a good risk.
