A very nice start of this year, by my standards, with two already concluded sales in January:

Domain name: E / x / e / q / o (d o t) c o m
Sale venue: Brandroot
Listing upgrades: None
Sale price: low to mid $x,xxx
Total cost: $33.33

Details: Sold as a part of package deal (seven domains sold to a single buyer - only this one was mine though). Made a bit of a concession on my part, sales price wise, but I'm content nevertheless.

Domain name: H / j / o / n (d o t) c o m
Sale venue: NameSilo
Listing upgrades: None
Sale price: $2688 ($2466,40 in my PayPal after all commissions deducted)
Total cost: $96.51

Details: Initial inquiry from Chinese buyer arrived back in November last year via whois. It all started with regular "Is it for sale?" and my asking for the best offer they'd be willing to make. First offer was $600 and I said that $3k would be the least I could consider. Buyer replied that he would buy it immediately for $2k, but $3k was something he had to think about. There was quite a bit of back and forth since that point, some because of language issues on buyer's end and some due to my insistence on using NameSilo as a selling venue, for the sake of both simplicity and NameSilo's low commission. On the other hand buyer was rather insistent on having the domain transferred out to one of Chinese registrars, something that I was not exactly opposed to per se, but which clearly implied mandatory use of some escrow service and possible complications due to ID verification, payment delays, communication issues etc, all of which I explained to buyer. At that point buyer enlisted help of staff from 62 (dot) com to assist him with purchase and communication and I ultimately quoted $2688 BIN as my final offer, provided that purchase was done through NameSilo and NameSilo alone. I believe there was another communication breakdown when buyer contacted me directly, bypassing 62 (dot) com and saying that he was going to buy the domain after 6 more weeks, probably thinking that I would be likelier to change my mind about transferring out then. I kept the hard line though and communicated both to him and 62 (dot) com, saying that I would wait, but with quoted price unchanged and NameSilo's marketplace used as essential elements of the deal. Upon expiry of these 6 weeks I got in touch with buyer again, reminding him of the provisions of our agreement and then I did the same with 62 (dot) com when buyer failed to respond, setting end of January as deadline for either purchase or clear communication concerning fate of the deal. Two days ago I got a note from 62 (dot) com that the deal was still on and that buyer was going to transfer funds. Yesterday I got a confirmation of finalized sale from NameSilo's marketplace and whois already indicates 62 (dot) com as current, although supposedly just a temporary registrant. As for the history of this domain, I had a few inquiries for it in the past, but no response from any of interested parties once I communicated my expected price range, so I am happy to see it sold for a decent price.

I have had a few painful transactions like that with Chinese registrants also, really a coin toss sometimes if they get done or not, glad you were able to get it done. Congrats
