June 2009 Sedo 2500.00

@AEProgram Do you give coaching on picking up names. ;)

How did you figure it is worth paying 2500? What was your thinking process! At that time, what was your estimate of ROI?

I would not even think about such name for hand-reg it, shows what my knowledge is in selecting domains.

I need to read this thread from start to see what names give good ROI. I will learn something about buying/registering names!

thanks for giving GD some credit...godaddy is a company so many people use yet they love to hate on when convenient.

@kemjika11 One reads so much negative writeups about GD and my experience with their hosting support is not good but that was tons of years ago. Maybe things are getting better at GD support?

@AEProgram How did the GD rep help. Anything in particular? What support do they provide for selling DN?

I'd like to sit here and take credit for having some amazing mathematical equation as to why I purchased that name but that would be complete BS.

This name was purchased with the goal of building a video network / tube of reviews. It didnt work out. In other words, if this was simply a domain to buy with the goal of flipping there would be no way I would pay 2500 for it. But for that project I needed a name that represents authenticity and truth in a world full of fake reviews everywhere, and Real//Reviews had that ring to it, in 09 brandables where not really a thing yet either, today I might of just come up with a handreg brandable name.

It doesn't matter what name I get hit up for, my counter is always extreme, that has served me very well over the past 10 years (and at least one other domainer I know uses this method real well). Sure it lost me some sales here and there but when they hit they hit very nicely and make up for the xxx and low xxxx offers I chased away.

As far as your question about the GD rep, well when you deal with a person who is looking to buy a domain time is of essence, there was back and forth in the negotiation, the rep was available by phone and was able to relay info all the while doing a great job on behalf of the buyer. If I wasn't a domainer the name would of been gone at the 2000 offer as the gd agent played things down and had the ultimate over the phone poker face.

Nice Job! :)
Where sold? How did it all go down?

Let's see..

Viewee was regged for .99 on 2014-04-16 and I added it to Namerific 2014-05-13. I'm a logo designer at all the brandable marketplaces so that I don't have to wait and also get to keep my $100 designer commission, so it went live in a few days. A few days ago the owner Mike contacted me that someone was interested and then he brokered it from there with my permission and I received payment today.

Touchr was regged for .99 on 2014-07-27 and I received an offer on Sedo last week. We negotiated for a few days and he eventually told me $180 was the highest he would go. Since I was ok with that amount I told him that I would push to auction if he didn't want to go any higher. It was less than 2 months since reg so I pushed, didn't get any bids, and it sold at $180.
