Buyer approached me with offer $750. Later gave Estibot appraisal value of $1,900 and I educated him but there was a silence... After waiting for a week I reminded and asked to make an offer which will be either accepted or declined... He came up with $5k offer.

The domain doesn't resolve anything as of now. May be in near future it will be developed because he is an enduser.

Thank you. Always interesting to know about these stories. I wasn't sure what exactly are "cuppy cakes" but I think it's amazing you were able to turn a $750 offer into a whopping $5k. I hope one day I can achieve such a feat.

Sold a hyphenated domain for $100, earlier today.
A humble one, but still a manageable sale for a domain picked up 6 days back. :)

Emails, Luke.
Sent out some emails yesterday, the guy holds the cctld .co, and some other extensions for the same name.
I know i could have managed more, but then i just wanted a quick flip as there is no assurance with hyphenated names. :)

pretty good flip, only took a few months and you went from spending $224 on it to making $5k. you can't complain much about that.

Mind sharing the emails you use? I have a few emails I use and some do lead to sales but always good to have new approaches to the game. You can paste here or PM.

Nice sale, but I have to ask what your thought process was in registering this domain? Or more of why this one?

I see thousands of expiring domains a day that are obviously names of someones business, and I've often thought of the possibility that the previous owner may want it back, but at $25 each I typically only choose names that are somewhat generic or appealing to a larger audience than just the previous owner.

Was there some additional indicator that made it seem more valuable, or just purely random?

"Nice sale, but I have to ask what your thought process was in registering this domain? Or more of why this one?"

I have a site in mortgage niche and domain I bought was ranking for some low search mortgage KW on a page two or something like that. So, I bought it, thought that $25 wasn't much since keyword costs in mortgage niche are nice (talking about CPC here).
Later, when GD switched domain to my account, I saw that this domain is really nothing special and I was wondering why I bought it.

Haha I've wondered that a time or two myself. But nice, glad it worked out better than expected.
