The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

I know it went cheap. Sold it on Flippa with No reserve, It was a gamble and it didn't pay off. Well you win some and loose some :)

I hope it goes better with the domain name in my signature. But this time i put a reserve. I learned my lesson.

Afternic, Sedo, Flippa, Direct Inquiries, via Parked page... all passive.

That's the beauty of building up brands. After a lot of patience and careful keyword investing, you reach a tipping point and enter the world of passive weekly sales.

Cool.. can you share your tips, please?

buybiodiะตsะตl.com - 500 USD (this one is interesting. Last year I picked it and sold for $500. This year it was dropped, I picked it again and sold again for $500 - but to another company).

So... it's the trend... you need to wait one year more...

Its a awesome price for a .ws! I wouldn't registered it.

Btw real .web is coming soon.

It's all how you look at things.

I actually think he got a fair deal and when he asked how much I wanted for it, that's the price I quoted, and I quoted it to be fair. I probably could've gotten more.

This is a little off topic but maybe someone can benefit from my outlook: I take into consideration their budget from the quality of what they already have online and I know he would've made something out of it. I'm not greedy, I got it for regfee. He was there, he was interested, so he go it. I don't like hoarding domains that I don't plan on developing unlike a lot of domainers, that's their downfall. They expect one day someone is going to magically appear in their inbox throwing five figures at them for their regfee name, it hardly works that way unless the name is it's an obvious winner.

If someone offers me $100 for something I paid $3 to register, but I turn it down because I know if I spent several hours marketing it then *just maybe* I can get $300-$400...eh, I don't see that as being smart. That's gambling. Buy a scratch-off.

I've learned that endusers get extremely turned off when you turn down their offer then come back to them later offering to accept their original offer, ego kicks in and the chances of getting the sale are slim to none.

I know I could've pulled in double that amount, "Bibles", you've got every religious person in the world that knows how to make a webpage as a prospect, and not everyone is broke or closed-minded. I wouldn't have been surprised to have gotten high $xxx for it.

But, I spent about 20 minutes gathering enduser contact info, I wanted to move on to the next one. Another 25 minutes corresponding via email. 45 minutes total. I spent more time talking about it on the forum.

The internet is constantly evolving. Lately I've been seeing more quality developed websites on single word and exact-match keywords on the so-called "weak" extensions. And with all the new extensions coming out, you're going to see a lot more of them in the search engines, and when that happens....it's going to be commonly known by the average surfer that hey, there is actually more than COM, NET, and ORG and a strong keyword on lesser known extensions will be accepted and trusted by the online community. Content is King, extension is Pawn.

I may think differently than a lot of others, but that's my prediction. I love good solid-keywords on 'weak' extensions, it's the majority of my sales.

:)

Maybe, just maybe I'll work myself up to play with the big boys like Federer.

Wow, I like the way you are playing the game.

I like .ws even better than .web. I just think they are hard to sell. They are good for a small site.

I have registered a .net for 50 cents and planned to sell it on ebay for $40 - $50 but I got Luck. One week later got an email with an offer of $150. I asked for more.
One week later the buyer emailed me back and told me that he is still interested but he may not want to spend some more. I reply and sold the name for $170.
