Sold Appliance.io for $185 via Flippa Auction. Bought for $42 five months Ago. A bad sale IMO

Congrats! I'd say it's a decent sale. The plural (appliances) is much more popular so you did great offloading this imo.

just wanted to add to a sale I reported above...

Hidden (,) Wiki

Sold for two bitcoins (approx. $1,000)
This was my first .wiki sale and is actually the only .wiki name I had registered. I think I could have probably gotten more for it if I held it but the name of my game is CHURN AND BURN :)

Happy Domaining Everyone!!

I just received payment for a Footwear/Sneaker brandable .COM - Low $XXXX sale to End User.

The story goes as follows, outbound email to the end user, he already owned the .NET - I offered the domain for sale at Mid $XXXX, he displayed interest but wasn't too keen on my offer so made a lowball $XXX offer - I countered with a lower $XXXX offer and he didn't reply.

The key to this sale, I believe was remaining persistent and creating urgency. I emailed him after a week to follow up, no reply. I emailed him after the next week, no reply. I emailed him a further week later and explained that I wanted to sell the domain by the end of the month and unless I received confirmation from him that I would be auctioning the domain to the public (this tactic entails urgency on the end users part).. he replied, but claimed he had been really busy and he would be in touch soon after researching about the transfer process. I decided to help him out by outlining the process step by step in my next reply to him and explained how the transfer process works at Godaddy, how easy it is and the details I required from him in order to push the domain to his account. He didn't reply, so what I did next was to reply to him one last time and send him an invoice via PayPal (perhaps the deal clincher, as it not only acted as a final reminder but also made it easier to pay for the domain as the invoice landed straight into his inbox) - and voila, after a few days he payed the invoice and the funds entered my account :)

In totality, the negotiation was quite a lot of effort, but worth it in the end - My tip is to never give up on an end user that displays interest in acquiring your domain (whether through an inbound, or outbound enquiry). It's also important to remember that most End Users are not domainers - I believe it's best to provide guidance with regards to how the transfer process works etc. without all the technical jargon, in a simple step by step format that they can follow. They are human beings like us (well, most of them are), no one wants to get scammed and I believe it helps to know how the process works from payment -> transfer of the domain.

I simply sent an email to the owner of the .NET asking him if he was interested in upgrading to the .COM. The domain didn't have a landing page, nor did I list it at any market places such as Sedo/GD/Afternic - In my opinion after fees and commission are deducted you lose a large chunk of your sale - which after going through all the the effort of negotiating, you'd rather avoid losing.

Moral of the story is, be periodically persistent, create urgency, remain professional throughout the negotiation and you'll be able to close your sale - Goodluck ya'll! :)

Sold UnderTheMistletoe/com

I actually bought it at GoDaddy for BIN price ($280). Saw it from @Zandibot's newsletter. Sold it in less than 30 days to LegalBrandMarketing for about a $1k. Think it is worth $5K-10K to the right end user, but that could take 5 years+.

On another note: I started my first thread on NP! It is for sharing unorthodox and unique outbound stories. Would appreciate any NP members willing to share some interesting experiences.
