This thread is a central location to report domain name sales of any dollar amount.

As much information as you can include about the transaction is welcome, but at a bare minimum please include the domain name(s), the sale price, and whether you were the seller.

Good luck with your sales!

Please use the Like and Thank links on a post to indicate that you like it or are thankful for it being shared.

  • Tip: Use the Like/Thanks feature instead.

Questions are allowed, but do not post commentary. If you want to discuss or comment on a sale in this thread, quote it and then post it in the following thread instead:

Domain name: Sports***.in (Sports + Keyword)
Sale venue: Private Email
Listing type: Inbound Inquiry
Seller: Me
Asking price: Mid - $X,XXX
Sale price: Low - $X,XXX
Purchase price: NA
Details: I have now realized the power of Phone Calls to close deals! Emails were exchanged within the first day of inquiry, but reaching out over the phone made the difference. The deal was closed on Friday i.e. within 2 days of inquiry. But the buyer requested to wait until Monday to make the payment. Money is in the bank!
Apart from that this was my first 4-Figure .IN sale. I really have high hopes for .IN and I think its about time!

Domain name: B r e e z e L o c a l . c o m
Sale Method: Bodis landing page
Sale price: $425
Purchase price: $19
Details: Purchased last year at GD Closeouts

Initial offer was $250. Transaction was settled through Escrow.com.
It's only been a couple months but so far I've had far better sales results with Bodis.com landing pages compared to Sedo parking pages.

Got an inquiry by email yesterday morning, and we settled
on $500. But I paid the $25 in escrow fees, so net was $475.

wow... congrats man. I saw that domain on deleted domains but left it because I don't buy porn/sex domains because they are hard to sell.

Domain name: Holiday***.org/xyz
Sale venue: Private
Listing type: Price request from buyer
Seller: Me
Asking price: $5,000
Sale price: $2,000
Purchase price: NA
Details: After trying all the negotiation tactics on the book, I accepted the final offer of $2000. It went on for 6 months. The buyer was desperate to buy, but not so flexible with budget. They arent too big of a business. I am happy with the sale! The buyer owns the TM for the domain. And the .ORG is older than the .COM (Current Reg Date). The asking price for the .COM is close to mid 5-figures, which is beyond their reach, and they want me to negotiate on their behalf. Any tips from the PROs will be appreciated!

Pretty good sale for .org.How did you converge on buying in the first place??Is it a geo or brandable,if you like to tell.

Its actually generic (eg: HikingTrip, DealMart, ConverseSale.... type) and it was aged.

dude, if they are tight on budget then why are they even considering a 5 figures buy? These guys arent tight on budget or anything, they just played that game as always. I used to think of my domains as a unique gem, you cant goto a diamonds shop and tell the guy I love my wife very much and she would love this gem very much, but I cant pay that much, so please settle for 70% discount! He will tell you he appreciates the pitch, but you should rather consider gold instead of diamond!
I was a similar victim to such tactics before. I sold the domain for xxx then the guy 2 weeks later asked me to buy him a certain domain for 3K!
Whats gone is gone, you should enjoy the 2K and maybe get yourself the remaining 3K from the stealth acquisition. Just make sure you have a written email from them at least that you are brokered for such and that your commission is 10% at least. If they arent realistic, dont bother, if the asking price is 50K and they want to spend 10K, then drop the ball and just leave!

Once again, good sale, but dont believe buyers unless you have SOLID PROOF!

He has agreed on 15% already. He was actually very honest and clear right from the beginning about his pursue for the .com and he shared the email exchanges he had with them.
You are bang on his budget i.e. 10K which is what I am working on with him before reaching out to the seller. I feel 10K is a fair price. I havent reached out to the seller yet. Atleast it will be a good exercise and a great learning experience!

If they have the TM why not UDRP?

If they have the TM why not UDRP?

Having a matching trademark doesn't = a guaranteed UDRP win. Depending on other details of this particular situation a UDRP by the TM holder could lead to a finding of RDNH
