Until I sell a domain for $1.2M like Rick Schwartz, or $20K like @Jim H above,

Here's a small sale from September:

Untitled.png

This domain is a handreg from 2023. Hold time 1.5 years.

Had potential for the future, but I was looking to increase sales in September - so I let it go for $1088 without much hard feelings . Still money in the bank. 2024 has been good for me so I'm happy with some extra change in the pocket.

On a side note I've been collecting better names lately... so hoping on increasing sales soon. Actually not hoping, I'm pretty sure as I see the interest / offers / calls etc.

P.S. If this domain dropped today, it would be automatically catched ... the ones left are either worthless, or gems totally going under the radar (rare).

P.S.2. I really wish I could, but I'm not that good at registering names that are quick to be sold to existing / upcoming big companies for serious $$$ - at least for now. For most of the names I register I do not do much research on as to potential, existing buyers. But I admit I have so little time lately to put into domaining as I'm on the upswing with another business. But this might change soon... Anyway, all good.

Edit: At this time I don't have any domains listed for that low anymore.

After a record-long 3.5 months sales drought, I actually sold two domains within less than a day. I hope it's the start of a major ketchup effect.

The weird thing is that both domains were hyphenated, and I only had 25 hyphenated domains in my portfolio. Could it be the same buyer? Maybe a desperate Rob Monster, high on cocaine and Red Bull, trying to fend off evil spirits by going on a hyphenated buying spree?

I don't know, but I believe it's a coincidence, because the domains are in different niches, and both had Afternic landers, so there's really not much that connects them.

Domain: One// - // Bot .[com]
Sale price: $999 (BIN), Afternic Fast Transfer
Purchase price: $8.47 handreg
Hold time: 5 years

Domain: Thrive // - // Capital .[com]
Sale price: $999 (BIN), Afternic Fast Transfer
Purchase price: $10 + renewal, GoDaddy closeout
Hold time: 4 years

So, now I'm down to 23 hyphenated domains. Despite the sales, I'm not planning to buy more of this kind. In fact, I'm dropping a few. The margins are too thin to dabble with hyphenated domains, imo.

Sold lefevre.org domain at @Afternic for $299

I sold this a couple of months ago (October 2024).
H u d d l e r .i o
Price: $1500 USD
Venue: Dynadot Marketplace (10% commission) but the sale process originated when the buyer inquired about a different domain name on a NamePros lander. After much discussion, ended up buying this one, and closed at Dynadot (10% commission - below shows net price to me). Shows value of interacting with your own leads, using landers such as NamePros.
Hold time was few months.
Rationale: I liked the metaphor of people working together toward some goal, as a huddle in sports, and the er form of the word seemed to work well for that to me. Name is not yet in use.
Sale is listed in NameBio (I guess via the marketplace, as when I checked sale was already listed)
This is the first retail .io sale for me (I have never had a lot of .io, although more now after the CM pair sale).

It's me again - with another sale.

Untitled.png

Afternic BIN sale, hold time 1 year 8 months (one renewal). Drop reg.

Got this at drop in Spring 2023 and was a no-brainer, great API domain name and definitely a keeper.

P.S. This fall has been excellent for me in general, and decent in domain sales. But I guess maybe not for everyone else (I had my time of bad sales before though). I've seen NP members complaining of bad to no sales. So maybe this sale inspires or cheers somebody up. Kinda hoping I can send some of the luck I had lately, go around.

Note: The best week in sales might just be the last week of the year, (always was for me) so don't lose hopes yet, keeping fingers crossed for everybody here!

Good luck folks, "I'll be back soon with another cartoon" (sale, actually).

Not sure if it's OK to share this as it's a year lease and I've only received three of the twelve payments. But since some money was made already I thought it's a good idea to spark the mood before holidays.
Sold with Afternic's lease, hold time just a bit more than a year at the moment of purchase.

Best wishes to All, Happy New Year, and good luck Hunting!
