Guys, if a registrant (of .ES domain) changes, will I be paying for a 'trade'? Asking this because my recent change of registrant / admin name for several of my .FR domains triggered an invoice as if I were re-registering these domains again.

P.S. Another concern, slightly different matter: I recently chatted to GD support, and asked about .ES transfer procedures, they told I will need to produce a photo ID (ID number was required when I registered these domains with a Spain based registrar, nothing new in this requirement, but GD told they will need a pic ID), I used my NIN (UK national insurance card) as identification, and it was accepted with no problem at all, in case with GD (they said) it is not enough. Spanish registrar was happy to accept my British national insurance, said nothing about any pictures.

I once acquired a nice search phrase .ES domain for high $XX but yes had to provide a scan of a photo ID. The transfer process was a royal pain but I managed. I speak/read Spanish well but it is not my native tongue and dealing with a foreign registrar was still uncomfortable. When time cam to renew the domain, the process was such a pain in the *&^%$! I said forget it - not the worth the hassle. No more .ES domains for me. Stick with .COM.

Pretty close to my experience. Mine is even worse, I do not know Spanish at all, just some words... I keep everything with redcoruna (hosteurope). Fairly speaking, support is responsive enough, and pricing is just amazing... Have you ever tried changing admin / registrant names? Emails? Is it for a fee?
