Hello Mods & Mems,

This is one I simply cannot believe.
I have a domain I went to change the NS on and got the error:

Migraines.TV
[Domain not found]

This domain is in my management portfolio and reg'd until end of Nov.
I sent in a support ticket and the response was...

[This Domain is EXPIRED Please check whois for details]

And a link to VS whois, which I ran and the results are as follows:

Domain Name: MIGRAINES.TV
Registrar: TUCOWS INC.
Whois Server: whois.tucows.com
Referral URL: http://domainhelp.opensrs.net
Name Server: NS1.CYBERIANDOMAINS.COM
Name Server: NS2.CYBERIANDOMAINS.COM
Status: CLIENT-XFER-PROHIBITED
Status: CLIENT-UPDATE-PROHIBITED
Updated Date: 11-mar-2006
Creation Date: 09-nov-2005
Expiration Date: 09-nov-2006

And This!!!!!
>>> Last update of whois database: Sun, 1 Oct 2006 20:01:34 EDT <<<

NOTICE: The expiration date displayed in this record is the date the
registrar's sponsorship of the domain name registration in the registry is
currently set to expire. This date does not necessarily reflect the
expiration date of the domain name registrant's agreement with the
sponsoring registrar. Users may consult the sponsoring registrar's
Whois database to view the registrar's reported date of expiration
for this registration.

So I go to Verisign because RegFly has not told me the date it
had expired, if it indeed had. This is what I get from Verisign FAQ's:

Why is the expiration date of a domain now visible in the Registry Whois?
The Registry now displays the expiry date for domain names because the ICANN Redemption Grace Period (RGP) Technical Steering Group recommended that the expiry date be displayed in Registry Whois in conjunction with the implementation of RGP.

Why is the Registrar requesting that I renew my domain name when the Registry Whois expiration date shows that it has been renewed for one year?
When a domain name reaches its expiration date and is not renewed by the registrar, the Registry system performs an auto-renew on the domain name. The auto-renew extends the expiration date for one year whether or not the registrar has received payment from the registrant. For example:

Example.com is set to expire on March 27th, 2003. The following events will occur:

If the registrar does not renew this name with their registry prior to March 27th, the Registry will auto-renew the name for one year; even in cases where the registrant has not renewed the registration with their registrar.
The Registry auto-renews domain names the day after they expire. Therefore, on March 28th, the Registry will auto-renew the domain name for one year on March 28th.
On March 28th, the new expiry date will now read March 27, 2004.
The registrar then has 45 days during which they may delete the registration and receive a credit for the registry fee.
A good way to verify if your name has recently been auto-renewed is to do the following:

Check the Last Update Date field in whois. If this field states that your domain name was Last Updated the day after it expired, your name was probably auto-renewed.
Call your registrar.

Why doesn't the Registry Whois display the original expiration date instead of the auto-renewed expiration date?
The Registry Whois system pulls the expiry date data from our Registry Database. As discussed above, since the Auto-Renewal process is conducted daily in the Registry database, the Whois will publish the auto-renewed dates. To publish anything different would be to contradict what is on file in the authoritative database. If the registrant does not renew the registration with his/her registrar, the registrar may delete the registration in the registry database.
I have PM'd member Paul V about this but his profile shows he has not logged in foe several days.
The biggest problem is I cant tell if it's in Grace or not, but the option to renew was still available... however it still sits in my regular folder, not expired names.
If it has expired and I was never notified it was due.... and the expiration date listed by them in my portfolio also is incorrect.. then it's on!!!

The Great Flame Campagin of '06 will start and I will not quit until RegFly is nothing but smoldering ashes and the Admin behind bars.

Those wipes are about as low a company as I have ever seen. May they all rot in hades for their contempt.

RegisterFly has many many issues, ICANN take action

Consider any other option then using RegisterFly.com :td:

Only just MAYBE good for one or two domains, I still wouldn't recommend it.

Have dropped names without notice, you can create a support ticket if you like but your response would be along the lines of fix it yourself and here is half your money back.

Have a couple shocking experiences with RegisterFly and if someone wants to start a poll I would vote RegisterFly as a scam and they should have there ICANN status removed.

Anyone interested in starting an Anti-RegisterFly website...?
I have plenty of experience dealing with their crap from there so called automated SSL purchase process advertised as taking 10 minutes but more often then not it is 2+ weeks threw to saying I have 80+ domains in my account which they forgot to actually register. (Did everything else including charging my CC and confirming they there mine, everything besides actually giving me the domains)

Truth of the matter is... I have NEVER reg'd a name with them.
I have unfortunatly bought many that were sitting there, and I
think the reason I got most of them so cheap is the previous
owners just wanted to get away from them any way they could!

Regfly really is a monument to bad customer support, but I will say
this... whoever runs their ad campaigns and handles the spin deserves
the Pullitzer Prize for Best fiction story, keeping the incompetance
under the covers and allowing them to continue drawing new
customers.

Mark, that was a great post, a tribute to the stamina of evil,
and written of course in the style of the late great kid5150. ;)

I still havent heard back from Paul V about how my support tickets
ended up deleted.

In his defense though I will mention he is recovering from major
surgery right now, so I'm not pressing it.
Gawd I would hate to have his job. They keep him busier than a
one legged man at a but kickin' contest.

RegFly is having major problems with the script, server and customer support. I don't want to remember that 4 days ago i spent 3 hours to reg some domains and couldn't do anything :td: only money and time spent.
