Domain = IdahoRealEstatePros.com
Offer = 300 Euros

This is my first offer from Sedo. I've had about 700 domains parked there for the past three months. Not a bad offer, however I've countered at 6,000 Euros as this domain is relevant to one of my core properties in development: IdahoRealEstate.com

I don't see why it is relevant. Take the offer.

Did you mean you countered with 600 euros

if so, that is reasonable to try....at the very least he says 300 only and you take it.

but 6000? that is a typo right?

Keep (and fully develop) "IdahoRealEstate.com", and sell "IdahoRealEstatePros.com", IMHO. :sold:

It's a good offer - in Euros - for that particular domain name, in my view! :gl:
Something tells me you won't be selling it (" ... countered at 6,000 Euros") for that amount, however.

All the best!

Id take the 300 euros, its a lot more than the true domain worth IMO! :tu:

6k seems a little too brazen, imho... "way high" offers have a way of killing a negotiation altogether, but I wouldn't have accepted the 300 EUR offer either. Same situation, same domain, I would have countered with 2k and see how it went.

Best wishes with the negotiation, farmer! :$: :$: :$:

Sell the Pro and keep the short one
300 Euros is a good deal for you :)

A good deal IMO, however I recently had a $60 offer for a name that I countered with $2K and sold for $1500 - you never know. $6K - a bit heavy and could easily scare off the "buyer"

I would have taken it at 200, but if you had to counter, maybe in the 900 range... anything over 1K is enough of a counter to kill it IMHO, above anecdotal evidence not withstanding ;)

wow i think that is a very good offer for the name. 6k is a bit off the mark...

Thanks for the replies all. The reason for obtaining the name was to prevent potential future brand dilution. For 300EU I'd rather hang on to it. The value of the domain to ME is the protection against brand dilution... which I feel is offset at the 6,000 EU mark.

Hope this makes sense. I AM NOT CRAZY. Really, I'm not.

"IdahoRealEstatePros.com" dilutes what ... the "IdahoRealEstate.com" brand?
I could see it the other way around.

Just my two sense (and don't want to see you potentially lose a seemingly good $300 Euro offer in the process, as well), IMHO.
All the best!

bottom line a domain is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it or whatever it would take to make you happy with parting with it, sometimes you have to sit on domains to achieve this. I think you may have wen't a little too high on it, but it's your domain and it seems you wanna hang onto it for less than that, so good luck with the negotiations.

Again, thanks for the feedback. My intent in posting this information was to convey the receipt of an offer via Sedo. The value I was offering the NP family was:

number of domains
their time at Sedo
time to receipt of the first offer
amount of offer

I have seen several folks ask about Sedo performance and I thought this information would be of value.

I am not in this business for domain resale. I have no desire to sell domains. My intent is to sell businesses, a component of which includes a quality domain name. To invest any time and energy to sell anything for 300 EU does not make sense for me. I am not "losing" 300 EU. I am saving time and energy and adding incremental value to a future business sale.

Rapidbox, good luck with your two "sense". I'm sure they will serve you well.

Hi,

I'd like to continue this thread.

Someone make an offer to my .info name at sedo for $ 160, I counter offer with $ 1250. He counter offer with $350 and I counter offer it with $850, and now I'm waiting his response (already 4 days, may be I'll lose this sale)

So, my questions is, how much we should counter offer so that we didn't kill the negotiation? Considering that I'm ready to sell the name, but not on the first offer.

Regards,
Sjarief

Idaho...

If I register IdahoRealEstateSucks.com today - would you buy it back from me for $6K because it delutes your brand? Please let me know ASAP, my finger is already on "Submit" button.

In case someone's wondering - I am kidding. But seriously, come on... You can't worry about things like that. $6K? Good luck.

Madness.

IdahoRealEstateSucks.com isn't a concern because it could not logically be used by a competitor. So, no, I would not pay you for this domain.

You could, however, register this name and setup a site to demean me and tell the world what an idiot I am for not selling IdahoRealEstatePros.com for 300 EU. Wait... perhaps that what NP is for.
