Hi guys,

I just had a bid on a domain on Sedo, it was a low ball offer and I countered with 900 euros ($1,200). He then countered going 50 euro's upwards.

I don't have a great deal of experience, so I just wanted your opinions on how serious yoou think this person may be (I've done some research and I have no idea who this person is) and what my next move should be.

So just to recap, he first offered me 100 euros, and I countered with 900 which didn't scare him off.

So now he has offered 150.

You could drop your offer by 50. In theory you will met in the middle, but that is a long way from here, likely one or the other of you will wander off.

Decide what you want for the domain (do not post that here). If your best price is close to your asking price then come down a couple steps, then the second or third time tell him it is your final offer. This massages his ego - he "got you to come down" but the selling price is pretty much what you asked.

Is he serious? Yes, probably, at 150. He is willing to risk lose the name by offering you a lot less than you are asking. So he likely does not "have" to have it. If you stick to a high price then he might well walk. He could be bargain hunting. But you never know. Someone here a few weeks ago got persistantly low offers on a name, finally sold it cheap, only to find that they were dealing with Motorola.

If it's a good domain and you feel you can get a lot more out of it, and don't need money soon, keep it.

All buyers are different. I know I had an offer for a domain ($100), didn't even counter it. Didn't feel it was worth that, so I just took it. I would re-counter the offer and unless you don't want to go down that far, go around 400 euros and see what he does.

Good Luck with your sale. :)

I am fairly new with the "Process" of selling domains, but my first sale someone offered me the Min (60usd) and I countered with a outrageous offer of 1500 and the other party came back with a "undisclosed" but not far off of what I countered with.

In most cases unless the domain is a VERY sought after .com you'll get alot of low bids to start off, and it's not a bad thing, counter high ... you never know :tu:

I would cut to the chase - find the middle ground your willing to settle on (- all of your fee's) and counter with that and state (final offer), if he counters again, response with same offer.

(btw, on an absolutely side note, this is my 600th post!)

Thanks for the comments guys. I'm looking to get 500 euros for it after fees, so I countered with 750.
