Hi guys. Sorry my first post has to be a plea for help but I don't know what else to do.

I won an auction on Godaddy on 2017/03/14 for £677 and it said in my account Yours On: 2017/03/28

So I waited patiently for 15 days and the domain is still not in my account.

Here's what it says in Transfer-in;

domainIbought.com
Transfer status:
Authorization code needed.
Email sent to PMYPPGYF @WHOISPRIVACYPROTECT.COM.
Recommended action:
Get your transfer authorization code from the sending registrar and use it to start your transfer.

I tried sending an email to the one about with my email and godaddy customer id but no reply at all in the 15 days.

Now I just went to the domain and it says "This domain may be for sale. Buy this Domain"

Have I been scammed?

I thought buying on Godaddy I would be protected and they would do the transfer.

Anyway I hope an expert can help.

Thanks.

Hello MicroW, and Welcome to NamePros.

Did you call GD support?
Sometimes the phone call will jump start getting the process moving in the right direction.
Also you can ask for help from the GD rep here @Joe Styler .
Good luck.

Peace,
Cyberian

Privacy has to be removed and the name has to be unlocked. so GD can send the email to the seller.
The seller then send the GD code to you along with the EPP/Authorizaion code so you can complete the transfer.

Unless it's an internal transfer between GD accounts.

Hey @MicroW,

Welcome to NamePros

I think Godaddy will only release the funds once the domain name is transferred successfully. At the end of this you will either get the domain or your money back. Contact Godaddy support as soon as you can, sure everything will work out.

Good luck

Right you will get the domain or your money but you should email [email protected] and tell them the issue. They can look into it and freeze your funds so they are not paid out while they investigate and try to help.

Hey guys thanks for the replies! I contacted auctions @godaddy.com like you said and I got a reply.

Here was the reply:

--
The domain is too new to transfer. It will not be available for transfer until 5/27/2017. If you would like to take control the domain at the current registrar in you can set up an account at Name.com, and we can move the domain to your account. Please let us know by responding with your account # at this registrar or you can wait and the domain will transfer as soon as its available.
--

So I've sent my name.com account number and hopefully will get my domain that way.

It's a big relief to know I haven't been scammed but it would have been helpful if Godaddy had told me this right away otherwise I would have been sitting here until the 27th of May wondering where the domain was.

Anyway thanks again for the help guys.
