Hi,

What is exactly this means:

1. Closed out Domains
2. Expired Domains
3. Expiring Domains
4. Deleted Domains

When Closed out domain Auctions and drop catch service are works?
Will registrar moved to auction when domain expired?

These are various states of pre delete and post deleted names. 1 and 3 are pre delete. It is at this time you can bid on an auction for number 3 or place a backorder for 1. Number 2 is self explanatory and is names you may be able to hand register as they were not back ordered. Number 4 is dropped names you may be able to hand register.

GoDaddy has a category of just about to drop names like a bargain bin that has buy it nows. They lower the price to a certain point and if no one buys it gets deleted or caught by a backorder.

Not every registrar has in house pre delete auctions. If they don’t, either GoDaddy gets those first or backorders are placed and then an auction takes place after the name is caught and in new possession of drop catching service.
