domain Question on dot shop - GearBest dot shop

Hey guys

The first domain I ever purchased was exactly that one (GearBest dot shop). I thought it wasn't so bad since it was a Chinese branded store.

GearBest dot com is a VERY popular branded online store where you buy products from China through them. The store gets a LOT of traffic each day. The .com also has a Global Alexa Rank of 275 and still climbing.

Any opinions on value or what I CAN do with this domain in particular? I think they recently trademarked their name "GearBest" less than a year ago or so...I do NOT plan to build this shop

Has almost zero value as Gearbest owns 4 or 5 trademarked classifications. Registering trademarked domains is not a great business model. It just depends on how aggressive a company wants to be in protecting their trademark, although you could apply for a trademark in a different class of goods or services, but that can get dicey and expensive if GearBest objects to your application of trademark?

Yeah I read you can use it for different services etc. Anyways that was my very first buy and did NOT think about trademarks etc lol Anyhow I know better now...I have a few questionable ones just like it. I will post them at later dates

Would or could they possibly buy it off me? GearBest dot com themselves?

You should not approach them with an offer to purchase this domain. You should really educate yourself on the UDRP process as any company that feels their trademark is being infringed by another domain name has to prove a few things when filing to get those domains turned over to them and at this point they could file on you to get them and probably win easily. It is expensive to file but not for a company the size of GearBest! Good Luck to you!

don't drop anything switch the domain to a new account ,list it for sale for 1000 bucks if ,without contacting them ,make sure they know its for sale,if they want to sue you they wont know who to sue ,so its gonna cost them 3 grand to start trying to get the domain back

Their legal dept. can contact the registrar and can know who is the real registrant is even he used whois privacy. Isn't it?

Yea so what open a new account use your middle name as your first name a your neighbors dog as your last name address is pobox and phone number can use cell number so if they sue the bitch next door will have a bone to pick with you
