Question about expiring domains

I am looking at purchasing a domain that expired on July 20th, 2013 but it tells me its unavailable to register. When will it be available? It is already 4 days after its expiration.

I might be mistaken, but I believe once a domain expires it goes through a few different sequences (redemption period, pendingDelete..etc) and then becomes available to the public again. Therefor, if it just expired 4 days ago it probably won't actually be available again for another 30-35 days..
