Confused about expiring domains

I have been following a .org domain that I have been trying to acquire for a while now. The original owner allowed it to expire, and I tried contacting them, but they did not respond. It has been over 70 days since the domain expired so the domain *should* be in the deletion phase, but this does not appear to be the case. I have visited some drop catchers and they do not indicate that it will be dropped soon. I have figured out that the registrar is 123-Reg which is reselling Tucows. The current expiration date of the domain is one year from when it should have expired and has the Tucows info on the whois, however this change occurred a while ago before anyone should have been able to re-register it. Is this just a temporary registration until it is deleted, or has Tucows registered the domain for itself? Also I read that Tucows holds on to domains for 100 days after the expiration date so it can auction it off so I am confused as to whether it is 75 days or 100 days. Sorry for the long post...

Maybe Tucows are keeping the name to themselves. Also they have their own auction platform where you can bid on expiring names. If there are no bids then it would drop. Have a look here: https://ddirect.domainauctionservice.com/

There are no matches on the auction site and its on its 72nd day after the supposed expiration date. Does this probably mean that Tucows scooped up the domain for itself?

Could be. Maybe you should shoot an E-mail to the address in whois.

Maybe I'm just paranoid from having a few domains I was interested in "sniffed"...but I would not be searching the domain by typing it on their site...just in case that tips off their bots.
If the lists are not extensive, I'd just manually search name by name on a regular basis...especially from now till day 10o (or after).

-hope you get it-
